Hope's first Grouse - American Brittany Hunting Dog Pictures Breed: American Brittany From: Jim Rigby Posted: Jan 26, 2010 I named her "Hope" as I hoped she turned out to be half the dog her Grandmother was. She is the spittin' image of that wonderful dog. Hope went on point and I found that the Grouse was in a tree about ten feet over her head. I pulled up and waited for the Grouse to flush and shot it. It fell near Hope and she walked over to pick it up and went on point again. I assumed she was pointing the same bird again as she had not moved more than two feet. I gave up waiting for her to pick it up and bring it to me and went to retrieve it myself. Another bird flushed from the ground not two feet from where the original bird fell and where Hope was standing..........on point. Could've shot two instead of one. She is tops in my book now. |
