Submitted by: Jo Oro on Feb 18, 2014Hi Chris,
I want to say thank you for doing such a great job with training my dog Blue. I am an avid hunter without the time in my busy life to train a dog. Over the years I have had previous experiences with other trainers and dogs to really appreciate what you have accomplished. Your communication, gentle style and web site postings were particularly comforting while Blue was living with you during the training process. Your honest comments, feedback and phone communication helped me to be updated of her progress and feel part of her training.
When I picked Blue up to return home with me, I was very pleased and excited. It was obvious that she was well cared for while she was with you during her training. What was not so obvious was how good of a bird dog she would turn out to be. Pointing and retrieving like a veteran dog at 12 months old. I am excited to see her develop as the years go by and will keep you posted.
Thank you for a great job with Blue!
Submitted by: John Carter on Dec 15, 2013Chris, thank you for the excellent care and training you gave my Brittany, Bean. From our first meeting it was easy to see that you care about the dog and not just running it thru some training to try and make room for the next one. The training you gave me , the owner , was great, being able to come out and work with you and my dog really made it all come together. I thank you, and Bean thanks you.
Submitted by: Scott Adams on Sep 09, 2013Chris Smith put both of our German Shorthaired Pointers through advanced training; steady to flush and WHOA training. They came home different dogs than when we dropped them off. They listen, walk into the field by your side, WHOA, and hold point like rocks. What a difference Chris Smith of Back Country Bird Dogs made in their ability. Perhaps just as important, Chris is soft-handed, a great communicator and provides thought provoking insights to your dogs bird handling behavior.
