We recently purchased two male lab pups from Kennel Up. They were our second purchase from Sheryl, as we had just lost Riley (Our first lab from them).

When I had written to let Sheryl know Riley had passed of cancer at 11.5 years old and to let me know when another puppy would be available, she sent pics of pups ready to go.

At first I was hesitant as I thought I needed some time to mourn Riley but after looking over photos of the new pups I decided immediately I needed another pup. But I instead got two brothers.

Everyone I spoke to said “oh no… two boys, that will be too hard”. I asked Sheryl to find brothers that get on well.

After picking up the dogs and two months in, the pups are absolutely wonderful. Both unique yet complimentary.

They really know their pups.

As of March 2021, we still have our sweet Charlie (mentioned in a previous letter). He is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. We later got another puppy from them, as well (same mother, different father). Another sweet one, and we could not love these ‘boys’ more!
They are well behaved, wonderful companions, pretty spoiled (deservedly so!) and good watch dogs, too.
The ONLY thing we would change would be to wait until they were 1-1/2 to 2 years old to have them ‘neutered’ (IF you want them neutered...).
We were ‘strongly encouraged’ by a large chain pet store to buy a package deal that would ‘save’ us a substantial amount of money over time. We got the package deal and, as we found out years later, they were neutered too soon (according to some) and they each had to have two (expensive & painful) surgeries on their back legs. One of them still bites at himself after eating sometimes and I’ve wondered if they left a stitch in from the surgery...

We will NEVER be using that ‘chain’ store/vet again. I would recommend asking around for a few recommendations of good veterinarians in your area. You never know, you might be saving more money in the long run - and these sweet animals deserve it??

Four years ago we lost Koda our yellow lab to cancer. She was hands down the best dog we'd ever owned. We had been hesitant to replace her for several years. Then when the timing was right, we took a drive out to Parma and met Sheryl and Jim and their 12 or so furry kids. I was so impressed with first, how awesome looking their labs were- polar bear white! And second, the intelligent and pleasant dispotion their labs displayed. We now have two labs from Kennel up Idaho - izzy a four year old female and Maggie Mo a four month female puppy. They definitely fill the void that was left from Koda. They are both so different in their own unique way, but one thing remains constant - their unconditional love and loyalty. Thank you Jim and Sheryl!!

We have had several labs in the past. We got a male lab from Kennel Up on May, 2013. Denver is the most wonderful dog we had ever had. We took Denver to obedience class because we wanted to have a therapy dog. He exceeded every expectation we had. He learned very quickly and LOVES children. We take him to schools and assisted living centers. He loves everyone. We would take him anywhere, anytime, he is just that wonderful. Denver always wants to please us and is the best dog. We are so lucky to have such a perfect furry kid.

We purchased our female lab, named Daisy, in 2015. She is hands down the smartest dog we have ever had. Her dispositon is sweet and she is extremely athletic. On top of all this she is a beautiful dog! Cherly Harris was great to work with all the way through the process of coming to look at pups, picking one out, and advice after getting Daisy home. Thank you Kennel up Labs for such wonderful labs!! I feel fortunate to have one of your dogs.

We bought one of their dogs! I instantly fell in love with all of them. Our little girl, Miska Snow, is the sweetest, smartest, well mannered, and even tempered dog I have ever had. She is so unbelievably great. Sheryl was great to work with. Miska had to have surgery to fix her eye lids, and when I mentioned it to Sheryl she didn't even hesitate to pay for it. We will definitely do business with them again! Amazing people and amazing dogs!! I couldn't be happier!

Now that we have had our new puppy for a couple of months I am so happy to have found him! He is so smart I am still amazed by him...having a lab growing up we decided in our old age to try one of our own. I told the doctor that I had never had a dog so willing to obey. His comment, these dogs are born trained! Thank you so much for breeding these awesome dogs!

MY HUSBAND AND I OWNED A BEAUTIFUL YELLOW FEMALE FOR 10 YEARS BEFORE WE LOST HER. WE HAVE 200 ACRES IN A REMOTE AREA IN EASTERN OREGON. WE BOTH LOVE THE BRITISH FLAVORED LAB BECAUSE OF THE CALM DISPOSITION, DOUBLE COAT WHICH WE LOVE , LARGER HEAD FOR THE FEMALES AND GREAT INTELLIGENCE AND DESIRE TO PLEASE. the most beautiful yellow/white colored labs....bought 2 males and have had the best time, Cochise and Geronimo. Love these boys more every day and what a wonderful part of my family they have become. would suggest to anyone that has a loving home to call and go out to see some wonderful, fantastic dogs if there is a litter available.

Highly recommend this breeder as our yellow lab puppy, named Anni Ansbach Goldenwine Hill is a wonderful new edition to the Hill Family of Garden City Idaho. Her unique coloring, combined with her wonderful, sweet, disposition, has caught the attention and affection of all that she comes in contact with to include our weekly doggie day care staff, that leverage her talents to calm small puppies and other new dog members down on a daily basis. She is definately what the Hill family needed with the unconditional love that she provides us daily, along with those wonderful doggie kisses. Congrats to Kennel Up for a Job Well Done. We could not be happier. Respectfully, Laura and Bart Hill

We have had two dogs from Kennel Up Idaho & both have been wonderful. Our most recent was a puppy out of Ducky in May 2011. Daisy is very mellow, pretty, & sweet. She has been easy to train and (knock on wood) never chewed on furniture or destroyed anything except her toys. She travels well (both in a car & on a plane) and is adaptable to all surroundings. She gets along well with all other dogs and cats. I highly recommend these dogs and the breeders.

We picked up our female pup Bailey in early June and have been thrilled. Bailey is very birdy, loves the water and retrieving and loves everybody and every other dog. Her temperament is exactly what I was looking for. I hunt ducks and pheasants but don't field trial so I also wanted a good trainable companion for the house most of the year. She's a quick learner and a very attractive pup. We just couldn't be happier.

We recently traveled during very bad weather to pick up our new pup from Kennel Up, Seattle to Parma ID. It was so worth the terrible trip we had. We spent over 10 hours in the car due to snow, Ice, and waits from Semi accidents, and our pup "Riley" was so cool and mellow on the way back. It forshadowed his overall tempterment today. We are just in love with him even our 4 year old springer (who is a little tweekie) has taken a liking to him. Riley is great with our kids and easy to house train. He is even walking on the leash easily. Our vet commented on his great disposition. And I can't forget our cat who doesn't like anyone, is even sleeping next to him. I can't recomment a better place to get a family pet, Kennel up not only produces healthy beautiful pups but they really know how to socialize them "family ready".

We got our yellow lab, Remi, in January of 2009 and she is the best dog we have ever had! She is extremely smart (sometimes too smart) and was so easy to train as a puppy. Remi is great off the leash and LOVES to swim. I think she would live in the water if she could! She is only about 55lbs as a 1 1/2 year old! I'm amazed but also refreshed with her size, as I work in a vet clinic and see many bigger labs with terrible hip and health problems. We have been thinking about getting another yellow lab soon and are without a doubt going to go through Kennel up Idaho again!

We purchased our lab from Cheryl about 2 yrs ago. His name is Hank and his parents are Cache and Annie. Hank is a wonderful dog who is extremely smart and gentle. Hank would live in the water if he could. I would not hesitate buying another Lab from this breeder. He is the most awesome dog.

We have had a wonderful experience with Kennel Up Idaho. The Harris family raises the best Labs that I was able to find in SW Idaho by far. Growing up in Iowa and having Labs as hunting and family companions, I was really shocked to find out how few good Yellow Labs there were in Idaho. We have had our female, Mazie, for close to a year now, and I can say without question, that she has the best disposition of any lab I've ever been around. She is on the smaller side at 70lbs or so, which is refreshing in this day of 100lb labs who don't look like a traditional lab and are set up for hip and shoulder problems in later life. My family and I are truly blessed that we found Kennel Up Idaho and the Harris Family. Thanks again John and Sheryl.

We got our creamy yellow lab, "Charlie", in December (whelped 9/22/09) and it truly felt like 'love at first sight'. We absolutely LOVE this dog! His sweet temperament and mellow disposition was obvious right away. We really like the lighter coloring, as well. We asked to see his parents and Sheryl & John were more than happy to show us. His mother and father have sweet dispositions, too. It was very obvious that these dogs are loved and well cared for. His socialization was wonderful, too. It took a little while to come up with a name - we considered 'Camper' (because he's such a Happy Camper), 'Trooper' (he really is), etc. John and Sheryl went out of their way to help 'deliver' him to us as we are from Washington & were in Idaho for a basketball game. (He also travels amazingly well.) We have an almost 13 year old lab that we also adore & when he goes to his 'Happy Hunting Grounds', we would love to get another puppy from Kennel Up Labs. We are not hunters and were just looking for a 'family' dog. He is smart, sweet, loving, happy (!), and we are crazy about him. A lady saw him with us outside a local pet store and could tell he was 'special' and she and her husband would like to get 1 or 2 puppies from them as well. So would our friends that were with us when we got him. By the way, his 'potty' training went unbelievably well - and quick. He was a little bit 'mentored' by our other dog, but he is also so good at letting us know when he has to go out. He and the breeders are not a "5", they are a "10+++". We couldn't be happier with him! :D
