We breed the Polar Bear White English style Labrador with the blocky head and stoutly built frame, wide otter tail and wonderful calm temperament characteristic of great English style Labradors. Our dogs have excellent black noses, gums and area around eyes which makes them simply gorgeous and owners constantly brag on their intelligence. When you purchase a Kennel-Up puppy you will be the proud owner of an incredible dog! Our sire, Snow Commander Gibbs, is a beautiful snowball white, with a fantastic blocky head a fabulous frame and a 'want to please' you attitude. Most of our families purchase a pup for a companion and many hunt with their pup. We carry hunting background in some of our females. Fifth generation Lucy is a beautiful light yellow with a great head, great frame and her mother received her JR Hunt Title at one year of age after only 1 month of training. Our puppies range in color from the fabulous snowball white of Papa Gibbs, to cream. Lucy comes from our original sire "Top Gun Cache Lucky" the son of Master Hunter "Golden States Wise Guy MH" who was featured on the 2004 cover of Ducks Unlimited. We have 2 Master Hunters, 6 Field Champions, 4 Amateur Field Champions, 1 National Amateur Field Champion and 1 Hall of Fame Retriever in the first 3 generations. When we go back 6 generations there are 35 FC, 30 AFC, 3 NFC, 6 NAFC, 4 CFC, 1 CAFC, 1CNFC, 1 GBSHCH, 1 USCH, 7 Show Champions and 19 Hall of Fame Retrievers. Our bloodlines go back to the 1800's with a combined total of 59 hall of fame retrievers all possessing wonderful brains and talent. The natural drive to hunt, the instinct of wanting to please combined with a sweet mellow temperament. These are the type of English Labradors we strive to continue to breed. Ideal for the weekend to active hunter that is happy to play ball with the kids and lounge in front of the fire at the end of the day. We are a family owned and run hobby kennel. We have been inspected and approved by AKC. Papa Gibbs may look gigantic but in reality weighs in at 80 lbs. Our mama's run between 65-75 lbs. Our mamas are fed a high protein diet during pregnancy and lactation. This rewards us with healthy pups. Our pups are whelped in our kitchen and handled from the minuet they arrive. They are socialized by adults, children and are grandkid tested and approved. We offer a 18 month health guarantee against genetic defects such as hip or elbow dysplasia and eyes when purchasing limited registration.Pups will have dew claws removed, have had their first shots and their first vet check before they are ready to go home. Breeding rights may be purchased by private treaty and does not include any health guarantee. We have placed our puppies with wonderful families in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and California. All pups are sold with limited registrations. Breeding rights for both males and females is by private treaty. We keep a running waiting list for the next litter and accept deposits once the pregnancy is confirmed. We have also donated pups to Eagle, Nampa and Caldwell "Ducks Unlimited" auctions, Bishop Kelly's Scholarship Fund Auction and the Boys & Girls Club Wild West Auction, which sold for a record $24,000! See more pictures on Facebook: @kennelupidaho and our web site, www.kennelupidaho.com. When you own a Kennel Up pup you will constantly be asked, "where did you get that beautiful dog from?". As of March 2021, we still have our sweet Charlie (mentioned in a previous letter). He is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. We later got another puppy from them, as well (same mother, different father). Another sweet one, and we could not love these ‘boys’ more!
They are well behaved, wonderful companions, pretty spoiled (deservedly so!) and good watch dogs, too.
The ONLY thing we would change would be to wait until they were 1-1/2 to 2 years old to have them ‘neutered’ (IF you want them neutered...).
We were ‘strongly encouraged’ by a large chain pet store to buy a package deal that would ‘save’ us a substantial amount of money over time. We got the package deal and, as we found out years later, they were neutered too soon (according to some) and they each had to have two (expensive & painful) surgeries on their back legs. One of them still bites at himself after eating sometimes and I’ve wondered if they left a stitch in from the surgery...
We will NEVER be using that ‘chain’ store/vet again. I would recommend asking around for a few recommendations of good veterinarians in your area. You never know, you might be saving more money in the long run - and these sweet animals deserve it??

Four years ago we lost Koda our yellow lab to cancer. She was hands down the best dog we'd ever owned. We had been hesitant to replace her for several years. Then when the timing was right, we took a drive out to Parma and met Sheryl and Jim and their 12 or so furry kids. I was so impressed with first, how awesome looking their labs were- polar bear white! And second, the intelligent and pleasant dispotion their labs displayed. We now have two labs from Kennel up Idaho - izzy a four year old female and Maggie Mo a four month female puppy. They definitely fill the void that was left from Koda. They are both so different in their own unique way, but one thing remains constant - their unconditional love and loyalty. Thank you Jim and Sheryl!!

We have had several labs in the past. We got a male lab from Kennel Up on May, 2013. Denver is the most wonderful dog we had ever had. We took Denver to obedience class because we wanted to have a therapy dog. He exceeded every expectation we had. He learned very quickly and LOVES children. We take him to schools and assisted living centers. He loves everyone. We would take him anywhere, anytime, he is just that wonderful. Denver always wants to please us and is the best dog. We are so lucky to have such a perfect furry kid.

We purchased our female lab, named Daisy, in 2015. She is hands down the smartest dog we have ever had. Her dispositon is sweet and she is extremely athletic. On top of all this she is a beautiful dog! Cherly Harris was great to work with all the way through the process of coming to look at pups, picking one out, and advice after getting Daisy home. Thank you Kennel up Labs for such wonderful labs!! I feel fortunate to have one of your dogs.

We bought one of their dogs! I instantly fell in love with all of them. Our little girl, Miska Snow, is the sweetest, smartest, well mannered, and even tempered dog I have ever had. She is so unbelievably great. Sheryl was great to work with. Miska had to have surgery to fix her eye lids, and when I mentioned it to Sheryl she didn't even hesitate to pay for it. We will definitely do business with them again! Amazing people and amazing dogs!! I couldn't be happier!

Now that we have had our new puppy for a couple of months I am so happy to have found him! He is so smart I am still amazed by him...having a lab growing up we decided in our old age to try one of our own. I told the doctor that I had never had a dog so willing to obey. His comment, these dogs are born trained! Thank you so much for breeding these awesome dogs!

the most beautiful yellow/white colored labs....bought 2 males and have had the best time, Cochise and Geronimo. Love these boys more every day and what a wonderful part of my family they have become. would suggest to anyone that has a loving home to call and go out to see some wonderful, fantastic dogs if there is a litter available.
