We have had labs for over 35 years and I can say I’ve had some awesome dogs. I truly believe our Jazz x Whisky 2019 will be another as expected when you use a reputable breeder. We found Beth via an internet search in January 2018. We had just lost our 11 year old chocolate lab and were absolutely grief stricken. We visited Dry Pond Kennel in January 2018, when Beth was hosting an open house, we wanted to make sure that we found a dedicated breeder, not a puppy mill. We were so impressed by Beth and her facility, it is top notch. Her kennel is so clean and the dogs and puppies are so well cared for. We knew we were in the right place, and put our name on her list for an upcoming litter.

Beth was the breeder for my 1.5 year old chocolate lab, Meghan. As someone who lives on the other side of the country (LA), you think I'd be crazy to work with someone in South Carolina. However, Beth came so highly recommended, as was such a joy to work with, I flew out to S.C. rather than working with someone here locally, that's how great she is.

Meghan, our lab, is incredible. While she is not used for hunting, there is no doubt in my mind she could be an amazing gun dog (hard to train gun dogs in urban LA). We do formal retrieving work at our nearby park, and Meghan puts all other dogs to shame with her steadiness, focus, determination, and athleticism. So many of those behaviors beginning to shine from the day I picked her up, as Beth fosters bravery, courage, and a desire to retrieve, from the moment those pups have the ability to walk.

I have also personally visited Beth's facilities, and you'll feel comfortable knowing that your new pup will be spending their first two months in an incredible home. From an amazing play area, to specialized birthing rooms, Beth truly has gone above and beyond to create an incredible facility.

During my search for a breeder of Chocolate Labradors, I came across Dry Pond Kennel. When I first spoke with Beth, I immediately got the sense of her dedication and love for the breed. I was so excited to find out that their gorgeous Sadie, daughter of their beautiful Jenna and the well known Hydro, is going to have puppies. Beth has kept in touch and updated me throughout Sadie's pregnancy and after the puppies were born. I was able to follow the puppies' daily activities through photos and videos, and had received weekly updates on their developments. Beth and Bill made sure that the puppies as well as their Mommy will have everything they would need. From building an entire kennel to staying up all night they ensured that the puppies were taken care of. They also had introduced the pups to as many different things as possible giving them a start of a well rounded life. From building a playground of different textures and sounds to have them outside playing with duck wings they were all up to a great start by the time they were ready to go home with their new families.
Blaze had adjusted and learned small commends quickly, and he was fully house trained within two weeks of bringing him home. He has a sweet and social personality, as well as great manners, which makes everyone who meets him fall instantly in love with him.
I credit this, in no small part, to good breeding and all the nurturing given by Beth and Bill. It is obvious that they both have a love for their dogs and go the extra mile to ensure that their dogs are given the best possible start in life.

I can hardly believe Moses has already passed the sixth month mark as it seems like just yesterday that I was preparing to pick him up. He’s really starting to grow into the big personality he arrived with and is always receiving compliments on his good looks wherever we go. l like to think that Moses is a deep thinker of sorts as he’s always been one to stop, sit, take things in, and then dive in with that great, lab enthusiasm we all love and admire. I cannot believe it has been two years since these adorable puppies were born!
Gunner is doing great; he has developed a personality all his own. He is such a fun loving, easy going dog, except when it is time to go hunting, he gets very serious and focused. Gunner has been on multiple dove and duck hunts over the past year and a half and he has been performing extremely well. He went on a duck hunting trip to North Dakota in October and retrieved for several hunters. Everyone was impressed with him! It is so great to have Gunner as part of our family.

Just a quick Gemma update, she has been at the trainer (Stonewall Retrievers in Acampo, CA) since June 2nd and comes home early October. I make the two hour drive (each way) to go see and work with her almost every Saturday. She is progressing very quickly and the trainer is happy with her and has expressed how athletic, persistent, and driven to retrieve Gemma is. Also mentioned how she has a great nose and apparently is one heck of a jumper. Apparently she can jump from the ground on top of a dog box which sits on the flatbed of an F-350. I now know why Jenna is Dry Pond's Jumping Jenna. I'm excited for the upcoming duck season and couldn't be happier with her, she is living up to her name, she really is a Gem!

Cola is doing great. She weighs about 53 pounds (6+ months old) and has a good athletic build. She has a great temperament and she is great with the kids. Until last week she has been going to the office with me so she is well socialized and has good manners. Last week I took her to Boykin SC to Allen Whooten at Palmetto Gun dogs doing some more advanced retriever training. Her desire to retrieve on land is about a 4. In water she is a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being high drive. She is really smart and has been easy to train.

Sorry for the late response but I wanted to get some action pics of Dozier for you and still have not. Dozier has been great. Super fast learner and knows when it’s time to work and when it’s time to play. He has heal, sit, sit stay and come, down cold. I can get him to sit on command even if his 20 yards away from me. He has no problem with double retrieves on land or water and he LOVES the water. Jumps head first into every little puddle he can find. He can make 35-40 yard water retrieve’s no problem. And completely goes bonkers over live birds. He has lost several of his baby teeth and weight 61lbs (5 Months old), all muscle. He spends just about every weekend at the hunting club in the woods up to this past weekend since it has been so hot outside. He has also taken on the roll of my protector. Everywhere I go and take him, unless it’s someone in my family, he'll stand between me and whoever and bark and growl like he's a bad ass. Once I call him down then he's fine and wants to lick your hand.

A great breeder who takes wonderful care to get the pups well on their way to great companions or sports dogs. I left my pup with Beth for an extra month so my puppy could participate in her puppy program. Even though I am a dog trainer she was able to provide the puppy with many aspects of training and socializing a new pup that I could not provide. Lots of good mat training, learning to work around other dogs, extra exposure to noise, dogs, environment and people that visit. He even got an introduction to water lead by his mom Luna. He got and opportunity to get his little paws wet and when I brought him home to a lake he went right in and swam at 16 weeks. All of these little life lessons and exposures provided him with a great start.

We have loved working with Beth Dry Pond Kennel! We got a Bella X Sprig puppy, Georgia, who is fearless, feisty and very smart! We have had Georgia for only a week, but she is almost fully potty trained and is using the potty bells (how we potty train) 100% of the time! We brought her home on Saturday and we haven't had an accident since Thursday! I know Beth's method of introducing the potty box at 3 months old has helped us with the potty training! Georgia is very food motivated, which has helped with her training. She is sitting on command and will "down" with a food lead. We are currently working on "come" and "leave it" and she is catching on quickly. She is an absolute joy and I have loved watching her grow and her personality develop over this past week!

I could not have asked for a better person to work with than Beth. She was very professional in very encounter and willing to answer any and all questions in a timely manner. Georgia will become a Diabetic Alert Dog and Beth was very accommodating in allowing me to scent train during our open house to find our best puppy match. Beth's facility is clean, well kept and always orderly despite having multiple litters at the time we were picking up Georgia. I loved seeing daily posts on Facebook about our girl from before she was born until the day we picked her up! You can tell that Beth's passion is dogs, and this is what you want in a dog breeder!

Murphy has turned into the family dog we knew he would be. He’s just over one and my son is his favorite play mate, my oldest daughter is the one he snuggles with and he’s as gentle as he needs to be with the 3 year old. He loves the water, mountains and most importantly his family. He stays with us wherever we go, he’s part of our family!

My family was given Beth's name and Dry Pond Kennels as a potential whelping center. After talking with Beth , we quickly agreed this was the best place for our Choc lab Dakota to have her first time litter. Our Dakota was a challenge for her but Beth worked hard to find a great balance. She also was able to sell all our puppies and found some of the sweetest families to live on the puppies. We have just reached the one year anniversary of when we brought Molly home from Dry Pond Retrievers & Kennels. She just had her one year health checkup at our vet and he said she was in terrific shape and in top health. The only downside is she has more energy than both of us combined.

The results of your outstanding work raising Sadie's puppies are obvious to us every day. Her even temperament, fearless attitude when experiencing new situations, her friendly approach to strangers of any age, and her ability to get along with other dogs is a big plus as we travel on our sailboat and by car. She is ready for anything.

She was practically housebroken from the day we brought her home. She has been relatively easy to train when we can keep her focused on what we are doing. She is very "food motivated" which makes controlling a sometimes wild puppy easier. We will be keeping track of Sadie's upcoming liters and will most certainly be adding a sister for Molly when she's a little bit older.

We got our pup Oakley from Dry Pond in December of 2017. She came practically potty trained and was the most well behaved, perfect puppy. We got our pup Oakley from Dry Pond in December of 2017. She came practically potty trained and was the most well behaved, perfect puppy. We are in college and Oakley was the best college dog- she goes everywhere with us, endures long car rides back to school, hangs out with all of our friends, and adapts well to multiple environments (my apartment, parents homes, lake houses, and duck clubs). She is our biggest blessing and loves to go to the lake weekly and daily walks between classes. She is the absolute center of our world and we are so grateful to dry pond for her. We were paired with the perfect puppy based off what we wanted for our lifestyle. Beth was an amazing breeder and always kept us up to date before we got her. All future chocolate labs will be purchased through her.
