I currently have a 2 week old litter out of Tess (HR Orion's Bold Huntress) and a young dog named Tanner (Torgs Hunting Memories SH). There are 8 puppies, 5 males (4 yellow and 1 black) and 3 females (2 black and 1 yellow). The puppies are out of the nest and beginning to explore the world. At this time two yellow males are still available, as is the black male. Also, the yellow female may be available.
Here's a link to Tanner's webpage: http://www.torgslabs.com/Tanner.htm.

You will see that both parents are hunt test titled and have passed a variety of health screening, including those for hip and elbow conformation. Tanner's hips are rated OFA Good and Tess's hips are ranked in the top 80% of Labrador retrievers using the PennHip method. This is Tess's third litter. This spring I had two of her daughter's hips evaluated using the PennHip method. A 2 year old yellow female from Tess's first litter received a very good score which rated her hips in the top 90% of over 24,000 Labradors they had rated using this system and a yellow daughter from Tess's 2013 litter, received an even better score which placed her in the >90th percentile, which is the highest category possible. This information gives me reassurance that Tess is producing offspring with good hip structure. In case you aren't familiar with the PennHip method, here's a link to their website.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of my first litter of Labradors under the Orion banner. Tess is producing the fourth generation of my own breeding. On my website you can see pictures and information about Tess, her mother Quattro, Quattro's mother Star, and Star's parents Blaze and Echo. I've lived, worked and hunted with each of these Orion Labradors beginning with Blaze, my foundation sire that I purchased in 1986. Over those many years I've carefully selected breeding stock based on health, physical soundness, temperament, intelligence, and natural abilities. My goal has been to produce Labrador retrievers that are wonderful companions as well as proficient hunting retrievers in the fields and wetlands. I think you'll find these Labs can meet the needs of an experienced trainer just as well as they will a beginner.
The puppies will enjoy the best care available. They received Early Neurological Stimulation, will be de-wormed, have their first vaccinations, and will be weaned onto Orijen Large Breed Puppy food. They will be exposed to a variety of auditory stimuli, including the Master's Voice Gundog Conditioning System. They will be introduced to water and pheasant wings and their eyes will be examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist to insure they have no congenital eye defects.
Each puppy is priced at $1,000 with a $200 deposit required to hold your puppy. Selections will be made in the order deposits are received. The puppies will be available in mid-July. If you are interested in a Labrador puppy nurtured in an enriching environment from parents with the rare combination of physical soundness, ability in the field, health, beauty, and temperament please contact me.
Thanks for your interest in Orion Labradors.
