UPDATE: There is one very nice looking male available at this time. This puppy was actually spoken for several weeks ago and was going to be trained and picked up as a started dog but the buyer had to back out so he is now available again. He has been introduced to birds and several other different socialization protocols. This puppy is already well on his way to be a great gun dog and the best thing is he will be old enough to hunt this fall. He has shown great learning ability and his eagerness to please will make for quick training, even for an amateur trainer. References are available from people who have bought not only from this current litter but also from this same breeding a year ago. Contact me for these references. Here is what a buyer of a puppy from this litter had to say about his new puppy: "Just a quick note to say this pup is exceptional! In forty years of fooling around with dogs, this pup stands out. Incredibly intelligent and easy to train. Thanks again, Doc." These are the kind of results we have heard and seen from this breeding the two times we have done it. It truly has been the best breeding we have ever done here at Coteau View Kennels.
Asking price is $1000 for him now but as his training is advanced the price will continue to go up.
This breeding was so explosive last time, we decided it would be crazy to not do it again. We have paired our high flyin' Xtreme's Puttin on the Ritz female with GMPR Highpoint's All Jacked Up for the second time and for good reason. Jack is a 70 lbs. Fox red male with a heart of a lion. Ritzi is a 55lbs. female that has proven herself with three prior litters, to produce some of the best working dogs in the country. Her puppies have been competing from Field Trials to APLA tests over the last couple of years. Jack was a no brainer in our opinion to pair with Ritzi. Some of the benefits that we have seen first hand out of the offspring of these two dogs is:
*Intelligence that goes on for days
*A great ability to problem solve
*Extreme focus even as early as 3 months of age.
*Prey drive rarely seen in any bird dog breed.
*Very trainable attitudes
These are just some of the high points but there are many other advantages to owning one of these puppies. I can tell you first hand because we kept a pup back to add to our breeding program and I will be honest with you. I expected a good solid pointing Labrador to come out of these two dogs. What we received out of this breeding was arguably the best dog to ever come through our doors and that is no bull. She received her Certified Pointer Retriever title at 6 months of age and at 7 months of age she was handling like a Master dog would. She will acquire her Advanced Pointer Retriever title this spring. She almost trained herself. She is a very special dog and that is what is expected out of this breeding again. I personally believe that the reason for this successful breeding is the mix between a GMPR and a NFC background. Nonetheless, whatever the reason is doesn't matter. What's important is that these dogs are some of the best dogs to ever come out of Coteau View Kennels and we are excited for round 2.
We expect every shade of yellow from this breeding ranging from fox red to almost white and everything in between. That is what was produced last time with these two. The best thing about getting a pup from this litter is it has been tested. There is no guessing what's going to happen when pairing these two. It has already been done. References are available upon request from those who have purchased out of Ritzi and Jack's last litter.
Ritzi is expected to whelp her puppies around Oct. 25th so they will be ready to go home 8 weeks after that.
