The dam, Eclair de Broughton X The sire, Titus Des Plaines Dauxeenes
We have over 35 years experience with breeding, training and hunting American Brittanys. After hearing over and over again the accolades sung of the French Brittany, we decided to add a puppy to our family four years ago. It all started there, and with experience with both the American and the French under our belts, we're sold on the Epagneul Breton.
We now proudly announce our second litter of French Brittany-Epagneul Bretons. We are breeding top of the line dogs with the goal of nurturing the characteristics that are so highly desirable in a gun dog as well as a wonderful family member. These will be exquisite pups. Both the dam and the sire are intensely driven hunters as well as devoted and affectionate companions in the field and home. Both have earned their "TAN" (natural hunting ability) and have been rated "EXCELLENT" in conformation.
The dam, Eclair de Broughton, hails from a line descended directly from France. She was sired by Bako de Keranlouan. She is a beautiful standard of the breed, who elicits compliments on her looks and abilities wherever she goes. She has proven herself on the prairies of the Midwest hunting quail, pheasant, grouse and partridge and is an absolute firecracker on the rocks hunting chukar. At four years old, Clair has pointed and retrieved hundreds of wild birds. She was awarded second place in her class at the Epagneul Breton Nationals in Montana. After watching her performance in the field for her TAN, the French judge threw his hands up over his head, shouting, "superb"!
The sire, Titus Des Plaines Dauxeenes, was an easy choice based on the performance of our first litter which he sired. It would be difficult to do any better. The feedback from our 2011 puppy buyers is indicating that we have many excited owners as they watch their puppies begin to perform in the field. Our own two year old, Gabriel du Lac Almanor, a pup from the 2011 litter, points, honors and retrieves and brought in over 50 birds his first season. He and his mom make a beautiful team working in the field together. Eclair and Titus simply produce hard driven, focused hunters.
Titus has established a sterling reputation during his career at a working South Dakota game bird hunting lodge. Titus was sired by "Ray", a Breton known throughout France, and distinguished by his claim on the 2006 Euro Cup Championship, recommended Trialer and the Top Winning Dog in France in 2005.
Our puppies are socialized from day one and are accustomed to children and other dogs. They have their first shots, dewclaws removed, tails docked, are microchipped and come with a two year health guarantee from hereditary defects. Both parents are either OFA or PennHIP certified. Puppies are registered both AKC and UKC. We introduce them to wings and birds at an early age. We're striving to ready these puppies to be the best dog you've hunted behind, as well as a much loved companion in your home.
We breed just once a year. Our next litter is planned for Spring 2013. We're anticipating a March breeding with puppies ready to go to their new homes in July. We are accepting reservations, along with a deposit, for this litter now.
