I am pleased to announce the breeding of GrCHF GRCH Vernon de L'Escarbot MH to CH Ardoise des Deux Pierres Bleues TAN. The puppies are do about February 25th.
Vern has excelled in the field in competition, having placements in UKC, AKC Walking trials, AKC Horseback trials, AKC Hunt Tests, NSTRA, and in France where he received a C.A.C.T, in Couples competition, which is only open to dogs that are Champions in France. In addition Vern is a Grand Champion in the Show Ring, and one of very few Epagneul Bretons to be "Best in Show". One of the others Epagneul Bretons to be "Best in Show" was son of Vern. Vern has hunted extensively, and has had Pheasant, Sharp-tail Grouse, Ruffed Grouse, Hungarian Partridge, Woodcock and Bobwhite Quail, all wild birds, shot over him. Vern is a pleasure to have in the house, and gets to sleep in bed most every night!
Ardoise is an import from France. She received 2 C.A.C.S. in the Show Ring in France and was judged "Excellent 1" in the 100th anniversary show for the National Breed Club. Ardoise received her Champion Title for the Show Ring in the U.S. She received her T.A.N. in France. Ardoise's sire Oscar du Pont de Cauhet is one of only 8 "Elite A" sires in France. Ardoise dam Skala des Deux Pierres Bleues, was one of very few "Recommended" females in France. Ardoise has had Pheasant, Sharp-tail Grouse and Hungarian Partridge shot over her.
This will be the 5th and final breeding of these 2 dogs, as Ardoise will no longer be bred after this litter. One of the dogs from the 1st litter, GUN CH Darius de L'Etoile du Nord, had his picture featured in the Sept 2012 issue of Gun Dog Magazine, to lead off the article on French Brittany's. The online version of the article can be seen at http://www.gundogmag.com/2012/08/14/breed-profile-the-french-brittany/ with additional pictures of Darius and pictures of Vern halfway down the article. There is also a head-shot picture of one of the puppies from the last litter.
