PICK OF LITTER/Exceptional opportunity: female, top quality Chesapeake puppy - Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in Orlean, Virginia - Hope Springs Farm
Exceptional Opportunity to own the best
(Pup available is a female, 3rd from left)
We hold back one or two pups from each litter for ourselves; pups we think are outstanding in every way, to continue our Hope Springs tradition of excellence. Not just the best looking and most personable, but the one that exemplifies traits we seek such as prey drive, intelligence and trainability. However--as badly as I want to keep this puppy out of my favorite dog Panda by the nice old field trial dog Rogue (this will likely be his last litter), I just had a started male returned from a bad situation and, well…I have too many young dogs now to do justice to a puppy.
This litter was uniformly excellent quality, no dominant bullies or shrinking violets; they're friendly, confident and outgoing. All of them have good bone, nice coats, attractive heads and very fast learners (sleeping through night with no accidents/crate trained by 6 weeks!). Pups have already been swimming, they're retrieving, enthusiastic over live birds, shot over, ridden in boats, and have "off" switches--they sleep quietly crated on the truck when at training sessions. They were imprinted to the whistle and have outstanding recall, they're leash broke, kennel trained, started on house breaking and absolutely LOVE birds and retrieving. Quickly learning basic commands uch as sit, kennel, quiet and fetch. Extensively socialized including children, other dogs, horses and large gatherings of people.
We'd ideally prefer a competition/hunt test/hunting home. Although our dogs have outstanding dispositions, these pups are too nice to be "just pets" and were bred for prey drive/trainability. Price $1600 (will go up as training continues).
