About Kennel Up Idaho English Style Labradors:Lt Yellow
English style hunting and family Labradors since 2004. My retired parents started Kennel Up' Idaho breeding the English style Labrador with the blocky head and stoutly built frame that range from white/cream to yellow in color, and 3 yrs ago they talked me into a dog and now both my mother and I are keeping things going. Our Sire "Top Gun Cache Lucky" is the son of Master Hunter "Golden States Wise Guy MH" who was featured on the 2006 cover of Ducks Unlimited. We have 2 Master Hunters, 6 Field Champions, 4 Amateur Field Champions, 1 National Amateur Field Champion and 1 Hall of Fame Retriever in the first 3 generations. When we go back 6 generations there are 35 FC, 30 AFC, 3 NFC, 6 NAFC, 4 CFC, 1 CAFC, 1CNFC, 1 GBSHCH, 1 USCH, 7 Show Champions and 19 Hall of Fame Retrievers. We strive to continue the intense natural hunting drive of our bloodlines yet maintain the calmer temperament. Our dogs are ideal for the active hunter that enjoys watching his dog play with his kids or lounge in front of the fire at the end of the hunt.
We are a family kennel with three breeding females with champion hunting lines and they run75-85 pounds. Our moms are fed a high protein diet during pregnancy and lactation. We offer a 24 month guarantee against genetic defects such as hip or elbow dysplasia and eyes. Our pups are whelped in our kitchen and are socialized by adults and children and are grandkid tested. Pups will have dew claws removed, have had their first shots and their first vet check before they are ready to go home. We have donated pups to Eagle, Nampa and Caldwell "Ducks Unlimited" auctions. We have placed our puppies in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and California but do not ship pups. We keep a running waiting list for the next litter and accept deposits once the pregnancy is confirmed. See more pictures on facebook: Kennel Up' Idaho. As time allows I will get the pedigrees of our Mama dogs on here. Feel free to look up our lines by entering a name from Cache's pedigree on huntinglabpedigree.com.

Submitted by: Laura and Bart Hill on Jun 26, 2012Highly recommend this breeder as our yellow lab puppy, named Anni Ansbach Goldenwine Hill is a wonderful new edition to the Hill Family of Garden City Idaho. Her unique coloring, combined with her wonderful, sweet, disposition, has caught the attention and affection of all that she comes in contact with to include our weekly doggie day care staff, that leverage her talents to calm small puppies and other new dog members down on a daily basis. She is definately what the Hill family needed with the unconditional love that she provides us daily, along with those wonderful doggie kisses. Congrats to Kennel Up for a Job Well Done. We could not be happier. Respectfully, Laura and Bart Hill
Submitted by: Deb Christian on Dec 05, 2011We have had two dogs from Kennel Up Idaho & both have been wonderful. Our most recent was a puppy out of Ducky in May 2011. Daisy is very mellow, pretty, & sweet. She has been easy to train and (knock on wood) never chewed on furniture or destroyed anything except her toys. She travels well (both in a car & on a plane) and is adaptable to all surroundings. She gets along well with all other dogs and cats. I highly recommend these dogs and the breeders.
Submitted by: Chris Degnan on Sep 19, 2011We picked up our female pup Bailey in early June and have been thrilled. Bailey is very birdy, loves the water and retrieving and loves everybody and every other dog. Her temperament is exactly what I was looking for. I hunt ducks and pheasants but don't field trial so I also wanted a good trainable companion for the house most of the year. She's a quick learner and a very attractive pup. We just couldn't be happier.
Submitted by: Tom and Francesca Steele on Jan 16, 2011We recently traveled during very bad weather to pick up our new pup from Kennel Up, Seattle to Parma ID. It was so worth the terrible trip we had. We spent over 10 hours in the car due to snow, Ice, and waits from Semi accidents, and our pup "Riley" was so cool and mellow on the way back. It forshadowed his overall tempterment today. We are just in love with him even our 4 year old springer (who is a little tweekie) has taken a liking to him. Riley is great with our kids and easy to house train. He is even walking on the leash easily. Our vet commented on his great disposition. And I can't forget our cat who doesn't like anyone, is even sleeping next to him. I can't recomment a better place to get a family pet, Kennel up not only produces healthy beautiful pups but they really know how to socialize them "family ready".
Submitted by: Randi Baker on Aug 26, 2010We got our yellow lab, Remi, in January of 2009 and she is the best dog we have ever had! She is extremely smart (sometimes too smart) and was so easy to train as a puppy. Remi is great off the leash and LOVES to swim. I think she would live in the water if she could! She is only about 55lbs as a 1 1/2 year old! I'm amazed but also refreshed with her size, as I work in a vet clinic and see many bigger labs with terrible hip and health problems. We have been thinking about getting another yellow lab soon and are without a doubt going to go through Kennel up Idaho again!
Submitted by: Rachel on Jun 29, 2010We purchased our lab from Cheryl about 2 yrs ago. His name is Hank and his parents are Cache and Annie. Hank is a wonderful dog who is extremely smart and gentle. Hank would live in the water if he could. I would not hesitate buying another Lab from this breeder. He is the most awesome dog.
Submitted by: Tony Johansen on Mar 17, 2010We have had a wonderful experience with Kennel Up Idaho. The Harris family raises the best Labs that I was able to find in SW Idaho by far. Growing up in Iowa and having Labs as hunting and family companions, I was really shocked to find out how few good Yellow Labs there were in Idaho. We have had our female, Mazie, for close to a year now, and I can say without question, that she has the best disposition of any lab I've ever been around. She is on the smaller side at 70lbs or so, which is refreshing in this day of 100lb labs who don't look like a traditional lab and are set up for hip and shoulder problems in later life. My family and I are truly blessed that we found Kennel Up Idaho and the Harris Family. Thanks again John and Sheryl.
Submitted by: Jill Reich on Feb 25, 2010We got our creamy yellow lab, "Charlie", in December (whelped 9/22/09) and it truly felt like 'love at first sight'. We absolutely LOVE this dog! His sweet temperament and mellow disposition was obvious right away. We really like the lighter coloring, as well. We asked to see his parents and Sheryl & John were more than happy to show us. His mother and father have sweet dispositions, too. It was very obvious that these dogs are loved and well cared for. His socialization was wonderful, too. It took a little while to come up with a name - we considered 'Camper' (because he's such a Happy Camper), 'Trooper' (he really is), etc. John and Sheryl went out of their way to help 'deliver' him to us as we are from Washington & were in Idaho for a basketball game. (He also travels amazingly well.) We have an almost 13 year old lab that we also adore & when he goes to his 'Happy Hunting Grounds', we would love to get another puppy from Kennel Up Labs. We are not hunters and were just looking for a 'family' dog. He is smart, sweet, loving, happy (!), and we are crazy about him. A lady saw him with us outside a local pet store and could tell he was 'special' and she and her husband would like to get 1 or 2 puppies from them as well. So would our friends that were with us when we got him. By the way, his 'potty' training went unbelievably well - and quick. He was a little bit 'mentored' by our other dog, but he is also so good at letting us know when he has to go out. He and the breeders are not a "5", they are a "10+++". We couldn't be happier with him! :D
