I recently purchased a springer spaniel from Geoff and she has turned out to be all that he said she was. I am happy and very satisfied with her.Geoff is a major his word and if I ever want a pointer he's who I would call first. I couldnt be happier with my pup,Jazz, that I got from George and Tina Sterner. Princess Jasmine (Jazz) is out of Sterndogs Smoke Creek Dude and Sterndogs Smoke Creek Pearl. She just had her first birthday. What a loving dog and companion she has become. Jazz has been pointing birds since our first walk around our neighborhood at 10 weeks old. Jazz is obedient, very birdy and has a staunch point. On her first pheasant hunt here in Colorado at 7 months, she pointed and retrieved the few pheasants that we were able to find. At 8 months we went on our annual hunt to South Dakota in late November and Jazz was hunting with the big dogs. We were all impressed with her drive, stamina and hunting ability. I cant wait until next season. Since then I have joined Rocky Mountain Sporting Dog Club and Jazz has taken 2nd and 3rd in the two Novice trials we entered, she needs a better handler that can shoot. If you are considering a GWP, you should consider Sterndog Kennels and a pup out of Dude and Pearl. I believe a new litter is coming soon!

This write up has been a long time coming... Originally i was looking into a GSP when my mom came across the GWP's and Sterndog kennels. we went to a trial to meet Geoff and a couple of his dogs and from that day forward I knew I wanted a wirehair. Well fast forward 3 months and we were once again headed to meet Geoff, his parents, and also the newest addition to the family Sterndog Kennels Sagebrush Savage... Sage just turned a year old earlier this month and she is turning into a fine dog. Geoff has been there to help me get her trained and has bent over backwards to help me out. I not only look at Geoff as a great friend now but also a great mentor and an expert when it comes to getting the most out of a dog. I could go on for hours but I will wrap up with this... if you are looking for a dog that will hunt its butt off for you, make a heck of a field trial dog, and will be your family's best friend around the house look no further than a GWP and more specifically a pup out of Sterndog Kennels you will not be disappointed.

Are you confused about all the options of finding a good wire hair pointer hunting dog? In my case I searched many websites and called many breeders and became frustrated with the overload of information and sadly no available pups. I hoped to find a pup now or to be whelped soon, but none were available. Luckily, when I was about to give up I contacted Geoff Sterner at Sterndog kennels. Problem was Geoff did not have any pups until late fall as well. --no problem. Jeff took it upon himself to search out other kennels using my desired traits and finally located a pup for me at Smoke Creek kennels in Colorado. It is not often you come across a guy that will go the extra mile for you when there is nothing in it for him. In this case Geoff did exactly that. I would like to have have one of his dogs but I am happy that he put me on to another quality breeder that I feel very comfortable will provide me with the quality pup I am looking for to bring into our family. Thanks Geoff for your generous help and expert information about this breed. It is a pleasure to deal with such a professional and passionate dog enthusiast.

I'm the proud owner of Sterndog's Bavarian Bombshell Lilli Von Schtupp. A female "sire Ch. Smoke Creek's Oscar IV" "dam Cedar Creek's Devil's Lady Bird". At 14 months she has the run and the nose of her daddy and the style of the mother. She is a very high spirited intelligent girl, with the love for her family and the game. I have Peg Horn's Reagan, whelped December 15, 2010. I use Reagan primarily for duck hunting, but also use him on wild quail and planted birds as well. I have not lost a duck since Reagan started, even on really long retrieves(his longest was over 150 yards). Sterndog Kennels and the Sterner family produce great dogs and really good advice. They make real good friends, too.

If you're in search of a high quality, companion hunting dog, then look no further! We've had our wirehair for 2.5 years and she's a great field and family dog. She's highly biddable with a strong hunting drive and quick to retrieve. She's like a sister to our 8-year old daughter. Equally important is the quality of the kennel, Sterndog makes certain their dogs go to the right owner. I explained exactly what I was looking for in personality (live in KY), and they matched my preference perfectly. They really worked with me on getting the dog from FL to KY. We continue to communicate to this day. Great people and great dogs, need I say more?

I cannot say enough here about about Geoff and his family. I mainly dealt with Geoff, his immense knowledge of dogs and hunting allowed my wife and I to pick the perfect pup. He went above and beyond when we visited his kennel. I have another wire haired that was purchased in Tn VDD registry and that experience pales in comparison to what I experienced with Sterndog. I highly recommend this kennel, and would do business here again.

I first met Geoff while looking for a trainer for our one year old catahoula/lab mix. I specifically wanted a trainer that had a lot of gun dog experience. I found Geoff by accident and it took about 5 minutes after meeting him to know he was the right person for the job. Not only did he do an amazing job with our first dog. I was so impressed with his GWP's that I became the proud owner of Sterndog's Boggy.
From the minute she hit the ground, the stories I have of her border on legend. They say only the good die young and that was certainly true of Boggy. She was the finest dog I have ever owned, and i have no doubt that she would of been a champion in her own right. She died due to freakish circumstances, it was no ones fault.

The amount of support I received from Geoff and the Sterndog Kennels family was amazing and I was truly taken aback by all the support. I am truly proud and blessed to be able to call Geoff and the sterner's my friends and I cannot wait to receive my next wirehair from them.
