We adopted our first GSP from Kerri and Shallowford Shorthairs a few years ago and went back for our second a couple of months later. I’ve not met many breeders throughout my life, but can pretty much bet that Kerri is one of the best. The amount of love and care she provides to these animals is amazing! We’ve had our dogs for five years now and I can still count on Kerri to answer my call or email with any dog mom questions. Both my husband and I highly recommend Kerri and Shallowford Shorthairs. You will NOT be disappointed!

Where I live there are not many reputable GSP breeders but I was so glad to find Kerri! She was so easy to work with. She even was flexible in holding my pup for another week due to my work schedule. The puppy that I bought from her has been the most intelligent puppy I have ever owned. If anyone is looking into getting a German Shorthaired Pointer I would definitely recommend getting one of Kerri’s pups!

I decided winter of 2017 I was going to get a GSP so I contacted Kerri at the beginning of the year to put a puppy deposit down. She was super flexible with letting me switch my deposit from 2019 to 2018 litters. She kept me up to date from the time of pregnancies until it was time to pick up my pup. I was specific with what look I wanted in a puppy and she delivered perfectly! Willow (my GSP) is a dream and transitioned well from her home to mine. Kerri couldn’t have been easier to work with and the whole process went smoothly. I’m very excited to continue getting puppies from her in the future!

I’ve been working with Kerri for several years now and she is amazing. Not only is she an excellent breeder, she also does rescue work. My first GSP from her was actually a rescue! When we went to meet our little rescue we met some of Kerri’s dogs and immediately put down a deposit on an upcoming litter in 2016. That dog has brought us so much joy that when she posted she was going to have more puppies this spring we couldn’t resist and put down a deposit on one of those. We just picked her up a few days ago and we are in love. So, 3 of my 5 GSPs have come from Kerri and Shallowford and we couldn’t be happier. It’s obvious how much Kerri loves the dogs and she has so much knowledge and answers texts any time of the day no matter how many questions I have!! She is awesome to work with! 🐶💕

Working with Kerri was great! She was very flexible with our situation (we had to wait years before the time was right for a puppy) and she kept us up to date on upcoming litters, and answered all our questions. We picked up our female in July and she has completely stolen our hearts!

Kerri Horne and Shallowford Shorthairs was a great experience. I moved to NC and did a ton of research since I did not know the area and wanted a GSP from a reputable breeder. She exceeded my expectations from day 1. From answering questions , to following up to make sure you are happy with your puppy, she does it all. I even had my heart set on one little guy and she helped me to make sure I got the pup I wanted that was best suited for me. Jax has made our family whole- Thanks Shallowford!

Shallowford Shorthairs Breeder Kerri Horne is top notch! We purchased Boone our GSP from her back in February of 2015. He is not only handsome, but everything we wanted in a field dog and family member.
Kerri is passionate about this breed and we knew that early on when speaking with her and after receiving the many updates on the pups leading up to their 8 week go home process. She remains very active and interested in what's happening with us and Boone and she has answered every call, text and email I've had since bringing him home. With out a doubt, I recommend Shallowford Shorthaired Pointers to any person/family looking for an amazing bird dog and family member.

When we started searching for GSP breeders in our area, we learned about Kerri and John through their website. My husband had previously owned a GSP so he knew the traits of quality bred pups. When I contacted Kerri for information she was always honest and prompt with her responses. Once we had committed to a pup from a particular litter, we were invited to visit our new puppy when around 5 weeks of age. We thought we were set on one puppy which we had chosen based of a posted pictures. However, my husband fell in love with the biggest pup out of the litter and all it took was Kerri telling us, "He's going to be a big boy." Now we are completely in love with our big boy Ranger. After we brought him home, we realized it had been many years since we had owned a puppy and needed some tips. Kerri was always a phone call or text away for advice. Our Ranger is the sweetest most driven GSP. Everywhere I go, I'm constantly stopped for comments and questions such as, "What kind of dog is that?" "Your dog is so beautiful. Where did you get him?" We are so thankful to have met John and Kerri. They don't just breed GSP's to sale. You can feel that they love their dogs and want to make sure they go to loving homes. I highly recommend Shallowford Shorthairs!

Shallowford pups are the best!! We received Truett 2 years ago (when he was 8 weeks old) and couldn't love him more!! I have 3 children and Truett is the best family dog. He was easy to train, is very smart, and is oh so handsome! Shallowford was great sending puppy pics the weeks prior to picking him up. They also met me halfway for pick up. We have had zero health or growth issues. He is as great as they said he would be. We love our Truett man!!

Best breeders around! When we began looking for a GSP we were very determined to find a breeder that cared about the breed and didn't run a puppy mill. We definitely found that in Shallowford Shorthairs. Our 11 month old puppy is very smart and loving. She is the perfect mix of hunting and family dog. She was born to point that is for sure! Even as a small 10 week old pup, she was pointing in the yard! She knows when its time to cuddle, and when its time to work! Not only is she very smart in the field, she is beautiful! We get complimented all the time on how pretty she is. Shallowford was able to help us with all of our hunting and puppy questions we had along the way!

Our GSP, Oliver, was born in July 2011, and we were so happy to keep up with his development via Facebook and email. We were even able to visit the litter at 5 weeks to hold and play with all of the puppies before deciding on Male #4. Shallowford Shorthairs is incredibly open and responsive to owners and owners-to-be. Oliver is now over 2 1/2 years old and has become an indispensable running partner and member of our family.

Words cannot express how happy my husband and I are with Shallowford Shorthairs! We did some research prior to purchasing our puppy and spoke to a few breeders. Shallowford was by far the most professional as well as the warmest and most welcoming. The dogs are exquisite and we could not be happier. We got our puppy Mowgli at 8 weeks and he is now six months and is absolutely beautiful and easily trained. He was very well socialized prior to joining our family so he loves absolutely everyone- canine or human! We also adopted a 2 year old from Shallowford named Stryker and he is just as beautiful and the perfect addition for our family! The best part is that your relationship with Shallowford doesn't stop when picking up your puppy. They are there with you for the duration of the puppy's life to answer or give advice about any questions you may have! We can't thank them enough for giving us our two perfect boys and I would HIGHLY recommend them if you're looking for a high quality GSP to add to your family!

We brought home our GSP puppy in May and we are absolutely thrilled, he is everything we were looking for. Kerri is an incredible breeder and will answer any questions you may have no matter how long you have had the dog. She had all the info we needed about the breed. When we do decide to get another puppy we won't go anyplace besides Shallowford Shorthairs. We are from Long Island and Kerri met us half way with our newest family member. We love Kerri and Shallowford!

I have always owned Weimaraners and decided to switch to a GSP dog after losing my last Weim. After doing some research I found Shallowford Shorthairs. I would recommend this breeder to anyone I know. Luke the male that I got off them is very intelligent and even the vet has commented on his excellent personality and looks. He is quick to learn his commands and has fit right into our family and with our other dog. I would definitely use them again if I was interested in getting another GSP.

Our GSP is 1 year old now and he brings so much joy to our life. Shallowford Shorthairs has been so helpful and resourceful when it comes to Pointers. They are extremely responsible breeders who follow and keep in touch regarding all puppies. Any dog or hunting question I have they are quick to respond and so helpful! I can't wait to get another GSP- and I will look no where else but with Shallowford Shorthairs!

We finally got our shorthair that we wanted after 12 years of waiting for the right time. We could not be happier with Shallowford Shorthairs and our puppy. She is 5 months old now and has shown to be well rounded in all aspects of family life and hunting life. Kerri loves this breed and will do anything for her dogs and future owners. I will be getting my second GSP from her in the future.

Shallowford did a wonderful job with the pup we purchased from them. Our female pup was very well socialized when we received her, this made the process of incorporating her into our pack much easier. Our pup is not only a gorgeous pup with great bone structure and markings, she is incredibly intelligent and has a strong desire to please. Our female pup os the smartest GSP we have had yet! She has a natural hunting instinct and also does very well with people. I would definetly recommend Shallowford Shorthairs to anyone!

I started looking at GSP breeders over a year ago and saw Shallowford Shorthairs on this website. They looked like a quality breeder so I decided to give them a try earlier this year. I picked up a puppy from Shallowford a little over a week ago. She has the best temperment and is extremely smart. I am positive she is going to continue to be easy to train. The entire experience has been great. Kerri was very proffessional and wanted to get me the dog that was right for me. I would definately do business with them again and probably will. This whole process has lived up to and surpassed my expectations.

I definitely would purchase another pup from Shallowford Shorthairs

My husband did some research on German Shorthaired Pointers and narrowed his list of breeders down to include Shallowford Shorthairs. We were very impressed with the level of professionalism that we dealt with when selecting and purchasing our puppy. As a veterinarian I can say that when I received our puppy, Molson, I was very impressed with the quality of dogs that Shallowford produces. We love our little guy, he is now almost 4 months old and we could not be more happy. I highly recommend Shallowford Shorthairs if you're looking for a professional, high quality breeder of GSPs! Thank you for our perfect dog!

We highly recommend Kerri and Shallowford Shorthairs! We adopted a female from Kistle and Bona's King in March. Angel is adorable and very smart! So far easy to train and a great companion for our family and our other dog and cat. We adore her and had a great experience with Kerri!

We have a 6 month old GSP who is absolutely beautiful, smart and sweet. Though she has amazing hunting instincts, we really were just looking for a family dog. Shallowford Shorthairs really did an outstanding job of "matchmaking"... and helping us to get to know our puppy before she ever came home. We are so pleased and couldn't ask for a better dog. Shallowford really care about the dogs and their new owners, and guaranteeing healthy pups. They are truly the best.

I have a 6 month old from the Astra/Ruckus litter this summer named Olive. While I am not hunting my shorthair (she points the birds in the yard), I will be doing agility and dock diving competitions with her this coming spring. She is highly intelligent and had numerous commands and tricks down in a few days. She was the star of her obedience class and is excelling in her agility class. She is wicked fast. She is highly food driven, but also loves to please. She came to us well socialized and happy. She loves nothing more than crawling underneath the covers with us. I'll be back in a year or so for a male.

Our 5-month old GSP from Shallowford Shorthairs is just amazing! He is from the Astra/Ruckus litter. He was pointing birds the week we brought him home and retreiving the following week. I'm training him to retreive ducks and geese and so far he has learned well above my expectations - comes and releases to the whistle and LOVES doing it. The breader, Kerri, is just fantastic. She is great about sending photos of the litter and keeping you posted about her dogs. We are very pleased with the breeder and plan to get a female in the spring. Our dog is also excellent around other dogs and people and shows no aggression toward them.

We have a 5 month old from the Kistle/King litter this summer and he's a total showstopper! He is very smart and athletic with a fantastic nose. Shallowford Shorthairs (Kerri) kept us up to date from whelping to 8 weeks with emails and facebook pictures - a really unique experience that we loved. We even have a picture of our GSP pointing a wing at 4 weeks old. We highly recommend Shallowford Shorthairs!

It has been a pleasure working with Shallowford Shorthairs. We have a 5 month old (Oliver) from the Summer 2011 Kistle / King litter who is an absolute showstopper. Kerri kept us up to date on the litter and it was so much fun watching the litter & Oliver grow up with photos on facebook until he came home to us. We even have a photo of him pointing immediately at a wing at only 4 weeks! My husband and I highly recommend Shallowford Shorthairs & Kerri!

Dash will be 1 in about a month. He arrived to us healthy and well socialized and has turned into a happy, smart young GSP that loves to point birds or be involved in anything else we are doing. Would certainly get another GSP from Shallowford.

I recently got a pup out of one of King's first litters. Mirra is a delight to have in the house and has an exceptional nose for birds and a solid point for being just shy of 16 weeks. She was an easy dog to house train and with her natural ability I see nothing but great things from her in the field. Not to mention her natural retrieving ability from the age of 7 weeks old. I highly recomend getting a puppy out of King if you are looking for a new GSP.

Our experience with Kerri and her line of GSP's has been wonderful. We have a 7 month old male out of Kistle. He is a beautiful dog. His nose is very strong and the instinct to hunt birds is definitely present. He is also extremely intelligent. Despite his streak of stubbornness, he has been very trainable up to this point. He is also very tolerant of our 15 month old son.
Kerri was very flexible and even went out of her way to make sure we had some hands on puppy time before we had to pick.

I have had a magnificent time training my Shallowford pup. He is very eager to learn, and a super worker. His nose is excellent, and though still young, is showing remarkable progress towards becomming an excellent field dog. This breeder is very professional, helpful, and well organized. As all dog lovers know, that is a major step in a pleasant puppy experience.

My puppy Sadie has just turned a year, and what a wonderful year it has been! She is an amazing dog! She is super playful, and gets along well with all dogs and humans. She is bright, and learns quickly. She has a high prey drive, and would make a great hunting companion (she was already pointing at 8 weeks)! We have not had any health issues with her, and would highly recommend Kerri and John as breeders. They are wonderful, and even took Sadie back and dogsat while we were home for the holidays. They love their furry friends a great deal, and continue to care and look out for the pups who have gone to their new homes, which speaks volumes of their commitment to the breed!
