Have owned and hunted with Chesapeakes for 66 seasons beginning in 1953. Current breedings represent over 15 generations of careful selection for HEALTH, SOUNDNESS, DURABILITY, with EXCELLENT TEMPERAMENTS AND DOGS THAT HAVE LONGEVITY (on average our dogs work 12 or more years and live well into their teen years). All adult Wyndham Chesapeakes as well as all puppies born here are individually DNA tested to be FREE of PRA (retinal disease) and DM (lethal mid age neurological/muscular degeneration disease), have annual Board Certified Ophthalmological eye exams for any other eye diseases , and are subjected to a complete skeletal x ray exam at 2 years and again after 8 full years of work in the hunting field with the x ray plates read and later both sets compared by Board Certified Radiologists, who provide detailed written evaluations . Experience has demonstrated that the DNA tests, annual eye exams and complete skeletal x ray scans are the best tools available for an ethical breeder to focus on sound, durable and healthy animals for breeding. Coincidentally to our breeding for quality Wyndham Chesapeakes for work some of the same dogs have won the American Chesapeake Clubs National Specialty show and All Breed Best in Shows. Not bad for dogs bred and raised at home for working on wild waterfowl and upland birds from mid-August to January every year and also during the spring norther migration of snow geese. Puppies are from work proven parents with the many generations of animals that demonstrated they were Healthy, Sound, Durable, Trained easily, Were easy to live with and had real Longevity working and as a member of sporting families.

The mother of this expected litter is an exceptional individual, Katy. She is proven worker with 6 shooting seasons of experience and demonstrated ability. In March of this year she crashed through sheet ice covered, flooded bean fields with heavy muck below about 18 inches of water to retrieve 145 snow geese in one morning. She is just as adept at quartering in from of a line of guns for pheasants. Pushed by many of my shooting friends Katy was entered in a hand full of shows in the off season and with her rugged good looks and athletic ability became a Champion unbeaten in the breed. A very happy and outgoing character she loves visitors and is always playful at home but in the field is totally focused on work. Two previous litters have produced very focused and rugged working progeny scattered from Canada to Texas and the East Coast to the Pacific North West. Grand progeny are scattered across North America and as far east as the Baltic countries in Northern Europe. Katy and her parentage are 100% workers. The mother of Katy, called Brownie, is just starting her 11th shooting season and is totally fit for work.

The sire of this expected litter, Jake, is a very rugged 3rd season worker living in Minnesota. This is a very focused hard going male that is equally adapt at collecting greater Canada geese and ducks as he is on pheasants. Bred here in the Wyndham breeding program he represents a female family tracing to many well known working animals in Iowa, Minnesota and the Dakotas that can be traced back in the Midwest region as far back as the 1870's. His sire had some of my own breeding for generations and was from a female that represented a male line known for workers in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado since the 1940's with some eastern Canadian lines crossed in.

Both Katy and Jake represent strongly built athletic animals with excellent temperaments. The sort of dogs that are a joy to live with year round and can be relied upon to work hard and well when hunting.
