The nine day old litter of eight, born to June, sired by West from South Dakota have awesome potential. At Wind River Vizslas, we love to hunt birds. My dogs get to hunt a wide variety of habitats for several upland bird species. Kansas provides prairie chicken, quail,and of course pheasant. North Dakota produces lots of shaptails, pheasant and huns. Minnesota Ruffed Grouse and woodcock are the favorite though. My June and Emmy are pros at finding birds. It's no fun without a good vizsla! West is mostly a South Dakota dog which means pheasants for sure. He's terrific on South Dakota's favorite bird! Her talent showed early in pointing ruffed grouse with great intensity. Productive from her first season and a natural retriever too. She's a very strong, hard driving dog, but with a definite connection to handler. If there is one bird in the field, she'll find it. She has an easy going, friendly, and very trainable attitude that makes her a joy to work with. The sire: Martinsen's West Bound is a hard driving, bird finding field dog, equally great as a personal field dog and companion. Also a proven NAVHDA dog having gone a step further. He's an Invitational Champion- the best there is in NAVHDA. West has a very likeable personality that transfers to the field in a very 'aim to please" attitude. He's most at home in the fields of South Dakota, on pheasants. Intense points and high demand retrieves are what he lives for. This litter was whelped June 24 with eight pups; 3 males, 5 females. They were born and will be raised in our home; handled from the time the're born, til they go to their new family. They're exposed to all the sights and sounds of living in the home.
