About Treiben Kennels

After nine years of raising English Labs we discovered the wirehair and we will never have another breed. They are so versatile. They make great house dogs and companions as well. They shed very little and are easy to groom after a day in the field.

We breed for the foot hunter. Our dogs hunt upland birds on a regular basis as we manage a corporate retreat for upland bird hunting.

We currently have 5 dogs  and normally have 1-2 litters a year. We like to keep one dog out of each litter, work with them and sell them as a started dog.

I purchased a GWP puppy from Mile and Ronna Autry in December 2017. I found the Autry's to be professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to help me pick the best puppy to suit my needs. They invited me into their home to observe and play with the puppies anytime at my convenience. I got to observe the dam with the litter and became familiar with the other dogs on their property. Mike and Ronna raise quality dogs! They truly have a passion for what they do and take pride in their breeding program.
My puppy, Rowdy, is 4 months old now and is one of the smartest pups I've ever owned. He is alert, active, and loyal... with personality plus! I have started working him on bird wings, and he holds point very well. He also demonstrates solid retrieving skills. He's a great addition to my family!

I purchased a little GWP by the name of Oaklee Dovahkiin. He hunted retrieved his first duck at 4 months(I was scouting swans and brought my gun) and it is a bird magnet. He points at tweetie's in my moms yard and is fearless in the dog parks. Commonly plays with bigger dogs (Great Danes, Mastiffs, Pit Bulls, etc) without any fear. He is quite the guard dog and doesn't trust anyone that I do not trust. He alerts me at any danger. He loves my nephew to death and is great with kids. Tries to kill them with kisses. He is more than I could of asked for in a pup. He is calm at home and doesn't chew up furniture. It is relentless in the field and obeys commands. He was the perfect companion for a single bachelor like myself. I am very thankful for the GWP I received.

I have purchased a male puppy from Mike and Ronna Autry. This puppy who is registered as Trebian's Red River Wally was welped on Dec. 13, 2010 and when I picked him up in Denver was active and alert. He travels well in a truck and has not been sick yet. He is active and retriving anything thrown for him. He has shown interest in a phesant feather that was put in front of him with a fishing pole. I can't wait for him to get bigger so we can do more with him.

I recently purchased a puppy from Treiben Wirehairs and found the owners, Mike and Ronna Autrey, to be very accomodating. I drove to their facility from Nevada and found the puppies and dam to be very alert and active. The new puppy made the 12 hour drive with no problems. By the second day at her new home, she was retrieving a ball at 7 weeks of age. I am quite pleased with this puppy.
