About Sutherland Shorthairs
We are a family who only does a small number of litters. We strive for quality, breed standard, versatile hunting dogs. We also use our dogs for dog powered sports such as canicross, mushing and bikejor. We consider the desired traits in a working dog for both hunting and mushing. Our dogs hunt upland, grouse and waterfowl. We spend a lot of time socializing the puppies and take them for water introductions and completed early neurological stimulation with them. Only breeding a few litters helps us to focus on a quality upbringing before they go to their forever homes.

We got our GSP from these wonderful breeders about a year ago! We couldn’t have asked for a better home for our dog Remi to be brought up in. They went above and beyond, took the whole litter to a swim introduction, had all the paperwork nicely prepared for us when we came to pick him up and we felt so comfortable with the care they provided to the full liter. You can tell they care so much about their dogs, and do their absolute best to be sure the pups go to a good caring home. They spent time sending photos of Remi to us while he was to young to take home and did a great job keeping us in the loop of how he was doing.
