Hay Devil Gundogs - South Dakota Pudelpointer Breeders
About Hay Devil Gundogs
We have earned several Breeders Awards from NAVHDA and are members of the North American Pudelpointers Alliance, which upholds the highest of breeding standards. Two litters are planned this summer. One will be a repeat breeding with Hay Devil's Best and Brightest x VC Oxbow's Fritz von Zedlitz. The other will be with a daughter of this pair, Hay Devil's Imperial Red. She will be crossed with Hay Devil's Czar's Jager. Each sire has a perfect Prize I Utility test and one went on to the Invitational test and achieved Versatile Champion. Pups will be ready for new homes about August 3-23. We are seeing consistently high drive natural hunters with wonderful family temperaments in these lines. Please email your contact information and Linda will call you to discuss the litters and to help you decide if this is the right match for your next hunting companion. SD and neighboring states preferred due to drivable distance, but we take great care in shipping pups as well. See our reviews in this regard.

I have owned a dog from Hay Devil for about a year now. Incredible temperament on this animal. Gets along great with my two young kids and my other dogs. Eager to please, inquisitive and intelligent. Displayed natural pointing instinct almost immediately. Strong retrieval desire as well. She has been very healthy and a lot of fun to work with. This dog has a TON of personality and is always giving our family a reason to laugh.

Great experience gettong my pup from Linda, Halsey is the first gun dog i have ever had and she was very helpful. My pup is an absolute gunner! Retrieved her first duck at 6 mo. Multiple points and retrieves in her first season in the uplands (pheasant, quail, grouse). She constantly is earning compliments from some of the more experienced NAVHDA folks I train with. Just today we took home a 112, point Prize 1 NA. This pup has a lights out nose, great prey drive, super smart, solid work ethic and biddable. What more can you ask for?

We purchased a puppy from Haydevil in late October. Linda and piece went above and beyond to make the experience easy. We had been on several wait lists, some for over two years. Linda ended up having a larger litter and we got a pup! Since we were not able to see the pup first due to distance she sent photos and always kept us updated. She orrganized the shipping arrangements and everything was flawless. We are so happy with our dog, she is a good family dog, a good guard dog and best of all great in the field. Wonderful breeders.

My wife and I cannot say enough about our experience with Linda and Pierre at Hay Devil. I am a dog trainer and live in North Carolina, so I was unable to travel to pick out the dog myself. This is my first gun dog; I typically train military/police canines. I provided Linda with a description of what I wanted in a hunting dog and she delivered. Jaeger has more energy and drive that most people would want, but that is exactly what I asked for :). Getting the dog to us was also an easy process as Linda accommodated our schedule to allow us to pick the dog up at the airport at the most convenient time available. I would highly recommend Hay Devil to anyone looking to purchase a quality pudel pointer.

fantastic experience. linda and pierre did a great job picking out a pup for as i couldnt travel to see them for myself. the socialization work, temperament profile and help with delivery all exceeded my expectations. they accepted my constant need for pictures and updates without frustration. i really cant explain in words how happy i am with the whole expereince. "stout" is happy, healthy and ponting my chickens already. he fetched the day we picked him up (albeit inconsistently) at 7 weeks! he is pointing the wing on a rod every day now. he can sit for a few seconds with verbal command. he's only eight weeks! he has adusted to our 4 kids, cat, and 6 year old griffon extremely well and is exactly what i was looking for.
thank you again linda and pierre. so far the great lines and incredible job you guys did with him in his infancy have added up to a fantastic companion...
