Deux Rives kennel - Quebec French Spaniel Breeders

Luc sold us a French Spaniel puppy back in 2009. He carefully selected one of the puppies for us based on personality because we do not hunt and she would be more of a family dog. He is very careful to use the best genes in breeding and to check for health conditions. My dog, Esmee, was the best dog anyone could ask for. She was full of energy and curiosity. She was a sweet soul, and played well with humans, other dogs and children. She had natural hunting instincts that I never taught her, she would point and pause and slowly advance as the breed is supposed to do. She also would zig-zag in front of me on long walks and hikes as the French Spaniel is bred to do. She loved her humans deeply and even in pain she would look to kiss and comfort us. She had no health problems except for a few months before her passing. She lived to a couple weeks shy of 15 years old and passed last week from what we think was colon cancer. She had the energy and beauty of a young dog up until 14.5 years old, people would always mistake her for a puppy. Also, she had a beautiful coat and gait, I think she could have won prizes as a show dog. When trotting she looked like she was floating because she was so graceful, but she also had the power to sprint very fast and the endurance to go on 5 mile hikes, even as a senior. She was highly trainable and smart. Luc is active on Facebook groups for the FS and he messaged me a couple of times for updates on her, he truly cares. If I ever own another dog it would be an FS and I would first look to Deux Rives (Luc's kennel).
