We purchased a male puppy who has the coat the coloring of deadgrass. His mother was Gail Force. He became the best hunting dog we ever had. Training him was a breeze and he caught on very fast. We used him just for hunting geese, ducks, and he also did well in the field finding pheasants and rabbits and bringing the game right back to us. We enjoyed out time with him, but he started having bad seizures. We tried several different treatments and medication. We had to unfortunately put him to sleep because the seizures were so severe that he fell down steps and hurt his hips bad. We tried to fix his hips , but it wasn`t fair to watch him walk with pain and hearing the crying when he walked. We enjoyed having this dog whose name was Buddy. He was like a child to us and we loved him. In the future I would like to get another Chesapeake from this breeder, Their dogs have excellent bloodlines and excel in hunting or in trials or just having one as a pet.

Purchased a male from Rachel and Rich in September of 1999. His father, Sarge, was on the farm and available to be looked at. We were interviewed, as all good breeders do, before we ever saw the pups. All looked healthy, happy and eager. A nice atmosphere on the farm and we felt very comfortable with the whole deal. "Ike" turned out, and still is at 11 yrs. the best hunting/family dog one could ask for. Truly the best of both worlds. And it all started at Nativelands!
