Our IS from John is exactly the demeanor he told us she would be. She has energy and very birdy outside and calm and the sweetest family dog inside. We are very pleased and love our sweet Emma.

I love my irish setter from longford. John was amazing to work with. He flew my Maddy with his family to NJ so I could pick her up. Maddy is 3 living with me in NY on my horse farm. She is a perfect example of the irish setter breed I grew up with. Thank you!

We LOVE Kerry. We didn't want a puppy, and we got exactly who we were looking for in Longford Kerry, 1 and 1/2 years old. She is an unbelievably gorgeous animal with a respect for her people and a sweetness beyond belief. She is now living in Central NY with 2 other dogs (a 3 y.o. Rough Coat Collie, a 2 y.o. Irish Red Setter (tiny), a 15 y.o Calico Cat, 3 horses and 2 barn cats. She is a joy. She comes to greet the barn cats when I feed and is adapting to her new home beautifully. John, really, we could not be happier with our Kerry, aka, Kerry Ann. Thank you for dedicating your efforts to the breeding and well being of Irish Setters....

We got our longford Irish setter Molly in may of 2011. She is wonderful, playful and already pointing birds. She enjoys people and playing but understands when it's time to settle down. She is 38 lbs at 5 months and has a great strong look. We can't imagine our lives without her and are excited to see how fall training goes with birds

We got our wonderful Longford Irish Setter from John Regan and couldn't be more pleased. To start with, he is such an amazing breeder, very good open line of communication, exceptionally clean home, and a very loving home that cared for the puppies while they grew up a bit before the pups were weaned. We got our pup Hogan from John in February 2011. Hogan is a fantastic dog, extremely calm for an Irish setter yet yet has a youthful energy. Beautiful structure tall and thin about 45 lbs at 6months old, long ears with a big wisdom notch on the crown of his head, and a soft and lovely red- mahogany color. He is a great learner, retriever and loves bird toys. He is very nice and friendly to people and animals. I highly recommend Irish setters, very good breed. Thanks John, we love our setter!

As the trainer for Longford Irish Setters, I would recommend these dogs to anyone wanting a hunting Irish setter as well as a companion. Very few of these dogs that hunt, exsist today. I will be the first to stand up and say; YES these Irish Setters do hunt with style and intensity as of days of old.
