We are a family operated business that specializes in raising upland and waterfowl bird dogs. We strive for healthy, sound puppies in every litter, not only for hunting, but for a family pet for the owner. Our puppies come with a vet check, dew claws and tails docked. They have their first shots and wormed twice. We also offer a pet guarantee, so if something medical should ensue, we give you another pup or 1/2 your money back. We have 3 sires and 5 bitches. We offer started pups if you so choose. Our pups are 1100taking 400dollar deposits. We have both male and female available

Our family was looking for a well bred WPG with a great temperament that would do well around other dogs and grand kids and that's what we got from Grant! Clancy is a playful active pup who is only occasionally naughty(lol)
Grant answered our endless calls right away and no question was too dumb. He kept us in the loop when
the puppies were born and sent pictures and videos for us to see.
Ok,now let's talk about money a subject that no one mentions when choosing a new family member. Grant's prices are more than fair, and in my opinion most families would be able to budget for...you don't have to be wealthy to get a great pup from Grant.
If your family is looking for a grif you can't go wrong with High Country!!l

Grant is a standup guy with well-bred WPG pups. I called after having a disappointing interaction with another breeder... I traveled 2000 miles each way only to be disappointed after being misled and went home dogless.
Enter Grant and High Country Griffons. I got home heartbroken and tired ,after 4 days of driving. Looked on this site and read about Grant. I called and he got right back to me. A good sign. Then after explaining my situation.(.he was a patient listener). I told him what I was looking for and he sent me photos of available pups, discussed coats, dispositions and answered my many questions. I was anxious after the last experience he set my mind at ease. I couldn't leave again for a week and he was ok with that. He sent updated photos and videos of my girl. That was really kind of him and he always took the additional questions I had, I picked up WANDA and she is just what I hoped for...Healthy, happy, funny, and SMART !!! a well bred pup!!!! I would drive from California again to get my griff from Grant. No surprises...good dog and a good man. A pleasure doing business with him.

So many things to say and comment on, so stay with me! We have wanted a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon for some time now. We called around to a couple of breeders before we thankfully found this ad and spoke with Grant! He is so knowledgeable, and not just about the dogs, but the people they will pair with! In between the birth and pickup, Grant was always communicating. He would send us pictures, details, and really made us feel like part of the process from birth. We went out to meet him and the puppies at 5 weeks and then again when we picked up our puppy. We told Grant we wanted a male, with a traditional coat and who would just be happy to be happy (as we did not plan to train this dog to be a hunting dog, but we wanted a farm/family dog). I was nervous when I found out that we would pick our puppy from pictures and what Grant said about their personality and his suggestions of which pup he thought we would pair best with. I can proudly say Grant absolutely knows what he is doing as it has been 10 months since our puppy was born and his temperament and personality fits us like a glove and has since the beginning! This puppy is healthy, happy and it makes us feel so good that he came from such a good home. Whether you want a dog for hunting, farm life, or just a family dog, this breed is awesome and Grant will make sure to pair you with the perfect pup!! Stop looking at other breeders and contact Grant NOW!!

Grant sent us pictures of the puppies they had and i shared them with my "adult Granddaughter and 1 look and she picked hers. I talked with Grant and told him what i was wanting in a dog and he sent me a pictures of the males he thought would be a good fit. I picked one and we booked our flights to Hermiston. Living in Alaska that is a pretty good jaunt. I called Grant and told him we would be there Friday night just after midnight.(we had planned on renting a car) He said great they would pick us up at the airport and i said but it will be after midnight and he said no problem they would be glad to. Him and his wife Jamie meet us there drove us in Pasco drove us back to Hermiston stopped so could grab a few snacks and said just call in the morning and they would pick us up and bring us out to see the pups and be sure we were happy. We spent the whole day there interacting with our pups and watching them with their adult dogs. To these folks they are not just breeding stock they are part of their family. Grant can even tell which one is barking when they bark. We watched him pair up a family with 2 small children to a female pup that seemed to flip a switch when the children came into the house. I really think he has a knack for pairing animals to humans. Not a puppy mill THEY CARE !!! A truly great experience they took us to the airport and we are here at home on the Kenai Peninsula. In less than 1 week my pup has learned to come to his name, the word no and how to win everyone's heart. Thank you Grant and Jamie. A. Ed Gaethle Kenai Alaska

I have no idea where to start but this has been an extremely amazing experience. The breeders seriously felt like family and were so accommodating to help us to and from where we needed to be in order to see the sweet pups. Not often do you find breeders that you can tell that their dogs are more than just “money”. Their dogs are family to them and you can tell they are super well loved. We couldn’t have asked for a better puppy, experience and now a little bit of Oregon family 💕
Thank you so much for our sweet little puppy Zero.

Luke is a wonderful Dog retrieves on land and water (I think water is his favorite) has a very staunch point and his nose for birds is phenomenal. He is a close working machine, as I hunt on foot and love to jump shoot Pheasant, Quail, Chuckar and all Water fowl. The High Country Griffons breeding program is stellar in my eyes, as he has got to be doing thing right to produce such high quality WPG dogs that have natural hunting ability and are trained with very little effort. Grant the owner matched-up Luke to me perfectly after talking to me about my style of hunting and what I wanted in a dog. At first I was very skeptical with his ability to choose my dog, But now I very much trust his judgement and his knowledge of dogs. Grant Thank you for your expertise and your knowledge I could not have chosen better. I will be back for another hunting partner in the future.
Thanks again,

Grant and his wife are wonderful! Whenever i was first looking for a GWP he was the first one to return my call, answer all my questions, and kept in contact until the litter was born! Communucation was very responsive, we were coming from northern california and he worked with us on days and our travel. Once we got there Grant and his wife were so welcoming, answering all of our questions, and giving us all the info on our new addition! Was able to visit with the puppies family!
"Tilley" is now 6months old and is an absolute doll! She is the smartest little dog. Extremely willing and loyal! Very very easy to train! I am extreamly happy with this little dog, and the "transaction" that went with getting this little one! I have truly found tge best companion and i have Grant and his wife to thank!
Thank you guys!!

we picked up Gilda mid April last spring. From day one I knew this was a pup with energy. She would naturally back my older GWP on points at 4 months. At 6 months she pointed and retrieved planted pigeons I use for training. I hunted her with the GWP , by her self , with a dog she had never seen before and group of 4 other dogs never had a problem. In the field she is all business. At home she is a pleasure to be around. Definitely enjoy her and looking forward to this fall. Many thanks Grant and his wife for there hospitality and answering our many questions.

Our female is 8 weeks old. She is smart, taking well to training/ housebreaking/ etc. Inquisitive, playful, GREAT temperament. Grant was a pleasure to work with: allowed our whole family to visit the puppies at his place in Hermiston, met our needs with puppy choice, returned phone calls/ texts, sent us pictures, charged a fair fee, provided paperwork re: shots, initial vet visit and even met us halfway for the "puppy handoff". Great experience overall for sure. Thank you Grant!

We picked up Matilda on June 13th Grant and his family were so nice and informative about our puppy. They actually took care of her for 4 weeks while we were waiting to move. Grant and his wife and son are nice honest people you can feel safe and good doing business with them. As for our pup our vet says she looks to be one of the best he has seen. She is smart inquisitive loving, she is everything we were looking for and so much more.
