We met Dave outside of St. Louis to pick up Massena, a male pup, in July. Dave was great to work with and made the process very simple. Massena has been an exceptional family dog, showing all the traits any family with small children (2, 4 and 6) could want. He also just went on his first Chukar and Pheasant hunt this week and showed incredible instinct after intermittent training from a novice trainer (me) and a crash course in retrieving a feathered, scented dummy to the fire of a starter pistol the day before to get him accustomed to feathers and gun-fire. Massena is the first dog I have ever hunted over, but he exceeded my expectations in his ability to find, point, hold and retrieve the birds during this new experience for us both. Niether the starter pistol nor shotgun phased him at all. It was almost uncanny how he interacted with me once he found a bird and I felt like I was letting him down every time I missed. We had to pull him away from the field and he even doubled back and pointed a bird when we had decided it was time to call it quits for my dad's only bird of the day. Massena would have hunted all day if we had let him. I highly recommend Dave and his French Brittany pups.

I purchased from David Platt "Ely" a black and white French Brittany on March 27th 2009.
I have been more then happy with her. She has an excellent nose and finds and points birds with great enthusiasm. In her first year of hunting we harvested appromimately 30
Phesants and 2 Ruffed Grouse. She works well in open fields and in heavy cover. Her range is normally 40 to 60 yards, quarters well and checks back for hand signals, which she follows without hesitation.Ely did receive 10 1 hr. per week of obdeience/gun dog training that I took part in with 3-4 other dogs. She has been bell trained for house breaking and never has an accident. She is also wonderful around children we have 3 grandkids
that she is with several times a week. She also loves to be with other dogs.Ely is one of the smartest dogs I've ever had. She learns quickly and is eager to please. She didn't seem interested
in retrieving early on but picked that up at about 10 months. The 1st 10 or so pheasants that were shot over her just didn't interest her if were dead. Live ones would be pinned down and held
dead birds were tossed around or picked and dropped. A few sessions of leash traning and seeing a friends Golden Retriever bring birds to hand cured that. With hunting season over I am starting her in an agility training course tonight.

We have had Lou for a little over a year now. Lou weighs 40 pounds. We think he is the perfect dog. I took him hunting last fall when he was only 8 months old. I was very pleased with his natural ability. I can't wait until this fall to take him again. He is a great family dog; great with kids, doesn't bark, a good listener, eager to please, very smart. We would highly recommend buying a dog from Dave.

We purchased a female puppy from Dave in April 09. He was great to work with and accommodated our every need. Abby has been a joy to have in our family. She hunted pheasants and chukars this fall at about 9 to 11 months old and did a fine job. We expect great things out of her next year! We'd recommend Dave's pups anytime.

We bought a pup from Dave's last breeding and he made it easy to do. Our dog is just over a year old and is alert, bold and very athletic. He lives on 70 acres of bush, forest and lake and shows instinctually how to quarter, point and flush.
We live in Canada and Dave drove through several states to meet us halfway for the exchange.

Remy is a French Brittany Spaniel and he is a little over a year old now. My experience working with Dave was wonderful. He was very helpful, and sent us pictures of the puppy whenever we asked for one. We had Remy shipped from MN to CT. Dave supplied the kennel box and drove the puppy to the airport. It was a pleasure working with him. Remy is a great hunting dog with great instinct. He is very smart and he is a great family dog. I would recommend buying a puppy from Dave anytime!
