About Red Shadow Registered Tollers
Welcome to Red Shadow Kennels. We are breeders of multi-award winning CKC Registered Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. It is our mission to produce structurally sound, intelligent, healthy puppies that are amazing not only in Confirmation, Obedience, Scent Work, Dock Diving and Hunt, but also dedicated family pets.
Red Shadow Registered Tollers was formed after we had purchased and fostered a number of performance and pet-quality Tollers. We learned early in this experience that, while each Toller is special, our foundation bitch, Phoenix, was an unusually intelligent and "typey" representative of this breed. We felt so strongly about how her uniqueness enriches the breed that Red Shadow Reg'd Tollers was created in order to manage this genetic trait and legacy. We focus on having a high level of education in Veterinary Medicine, Canine Whelping, Reproduction and Canine Development. We strive to keep learning and educating ourselves in order to help our owners and puppies have long healthy lives in amazing families.

"Jet" is one of Canada's Top leading Tollers in Agility and was the number two all-breed dog in Canada in Agility for 2014. Jet is an outstanding boy who has excelled in Agility, Obedience and confirmation both in Canada and the United States. Jet has produced some outstanding tollers with beautiful size, temperament and structure.

Our Dam: RedShadow's Dramatic Entrance RA CD. "Quivari" is the daughter of our foundation Bitch, Marshand's Rise of a Phoenix JH, WC, RA, CD and BVISS Can/Am CH. SEASTAR'S ROANEDEN DARKWATER WC JH CD. Quivari has exceptionally high intelligence and drive, with tremendous focus. Her markings are very flashy, her movement is graceful and balanced within a solid structure. Quivari has produced some amazing dogs and is one of the best moms we have had in our kennel.

Both Sire and Dam have OFA (www.offa.org) clearances for hips/elbows/heart/thyroid. They have both been genetically tested for PRA / CEA /JAAD/ DM/ Cleft Palate and Buff.
We strive to make sure every genetic health test available is done as well as only the Top dogs are chosen for our breeding program in order to better, improve and preserve this amazing Breed! All our dogs are descended from some of the Top Tollers in North American History.
Red Shadow Kennels is proud to say we are one of the first NSDTR kennels in North America to use the Puppy Culture Program. The program is the gold standard for puppy enrichment, early neurological stimulation and puppy development in the first 12 weeks. This is a program that the top breeders around the world follow and the results in each puppy are amazing and lifelong. All puppies are raised indoors, in a family setting. They will have exposure to other dogs, cats, birds and children. We also provide an accelerated stimulation program where puppies are exposed to a wide variety of sights, smells, tastes and textures in order to develop tolerance, courage and a healthy curiosity of the world.
Red Shadow Kennels works hard to understand puppy development and fear periods each puppy goes through in the first year of life. These periods determine the dogs personality and behavior for the rest of their life. All dogs have a number of them in the first year but the biggest and most influential one is between 7-9 weeks. It is for this reason we keep our puppies to 10 weeks as it could be detrimental to them to have such a drastic change in one of these periods. All Puppies are CKC Registered, microchipped, Vaccinated, De-wormed and loved more than anything. We invite our prospect families to visit often.
Red Shadow Kennels is very involved in the Toller Community and we provide Seminars and Classes to the public and our owners. We cover material such as Grooming, Nutrition, Whelping Support, Obedience Training, Performance, Health Care/ Minimize Veterinary Bills, Puppy Development, Limited vaccine protocols and much more.

As we researched Red Shadow, we learned more about their love for Tollers. We felt confident that we were getting a high quality Toller pup after our phone interview and everything they shared with us about the puppies' life with them until they go to their forever homes. Through learning more about our family's lifestyle, they chose the perfect puppy for us.
We drove 14 hours to not only pick up our adorable puppy but also to spend time with the breeder becoming more educated about this breed. We had an 11 year old Toller at home at that time, but did not know very much about this breed until meeting with this breeder. They taught us so much about caring for our new little girl, Rylee. We have never been more impressed! Rylee was not only crate trained, but had been exposed to so many things in her short time since birth. The use of Puppy Culture made a huge difference in Rylee's transition to our home. It was simple. She rode home in her crate for 14 hours and we did not hear one peep from her, nor do we ever hear a cry from her at night once we got home. It was hard to believe and we now know that it is due to everything Red Shadow does for their puppies before families take them.
Red Shadow Tollers are available to us forever. I can't tell you how many times I have had simple questions about food, health, grooming, etc. and they are just a text/message away. They never mind and always want to hear all of the exciting things our sweet girl does. I feel like I have gained such great friends that feel like family to us. Our sweet Rylee is now one year old. When I am ready for another Toller pup, I will absolutely drive 14 hours again to purchase from this breeder. You will not find anyone better! I promise you! They are amazing!
