JP's Boykins - Ontario Boykin Spaniel Breeders

Where do I start... amazing, compassionate and very knowledgeable breeder. Not only does he do all the testing to make sure he is breeding healthy pups but he gives them all the love as they grow.
Our pup was born in March, this is when I first reached out.. but we were not ready just than. I reached out again in May and there was 2 puppies... like it was meant to be ?? I spoke with Ken on the phone that night and it was a done deal.
I am in Newfoundland and was not able to get flights til July to get our pup. Ken and his wife not only cared for Theo but raised him as their pup for us, until we could get him. They crate trained him, socialized him at the hardware store, had him in truck.. he loves ride.. had him on side by side... even had him bird training for us ???? incredible care Theo got ????
When I picked him up, Ken took the time to show me the commands Theo knew, showed me all the hunting skills and how to keep training him. I got to meet the doggy family and watch Theo with his grandfather, mom and other dogs. Was an amazing experience. Ken started training him in a airplane crate for me, that way he would be ok traveling home. ????
Theo today, he is incredible pup. Loving, smart, and loyal. He fits in our family so well. Loves bird training, loves to play ball, loves hikes, loves to swim and loves side by side adventures ???? He also loves his afternoon naps hehehe. He has a strong passion for that gun shot and finding that Decoy.. he sits and whins for it ????
I highly recommend this breeder. I have got so many comments about how pretty and well behaved he is, thanks Ken ???? even the vet was impressed by how great Ken was with the testing of the parents and Theos vet visits. Ken had all Theos shots done before I picked him up, as he was 4months.
Thanks for all the love you gave Theo, you can tell he was so loved and care for as a pup ???? Thanks Ken for all the videos and pictures through the months we didn't have him also, we will keep you updated also ??

We couldn’t ask for a more perfect Girlkin! Our Clairabelle turns 3 this month and we just love our Little Brown Dog to pieces. She is so smart and super affectionate. I get compliments on her good looks and behaviour all the time. Noisette est magnifique ! Ken et Peggy ont fait un excellent travail pour le préparer à la fois à explorer dans le bush et à faire partie d'une famille. Le rappel de Noisette est excellent grâce au travail de base effectué par ses éleveurs. Quand j’ai dit que notre famille parle le français, Ken a commencé d’utiliser « ici » avec « here ». Noisette joue merveilleusement bien avec mes deux enfants. Il a même charmé le chat ! L'une des choses qui m'a le plus impressionnée chez JP’s boykins est l'effort que Ken fait pour s'assurer qu'il élève des chiens en bonne santé (par exemple, il a testé leurs hanches pour s'assurer qu'il faisait tout ce qu'il pouvait pour éviter d'élever des chiens susceptibles de développer une dysplasie de la hanche). La conscience professionnelle de Ken répondait à mes exigences élevées. Nous sommes très satisfaits de notre épagneul boykin de JP's boykins !

Noisette is fantastic! Ken and Peggy did such a great job preparing him for both being in the bush and being part of a family. Noisette’s recall is excellent thanks to the groundwork his breeders did. When I told Ken we speak French, he started teaching Noisette « ici » in addition to « here ». Noisette plays wonderfully with my two children. He’s even charmed the cat! One of the things that impressed me most about JP’s boykins is the effort Ken puts into ensuring he’s breeding healthy dogs (for example, he tested their hips to ensure he was doing all he could to avoid breeding dogs who might develop hip dysplasia). Ken’s conscientiousness met my high standards. We’re so happy with our Boykin spaniel from JP’s boykins!

Casey, just turned 3 and has brought nothing but joy to our lives. When i got Casey I had an elderly American Water Spaniel, Drake. I give Drake most of the credit for training Casey. They were so similar you had to look twice to tell them apart. But no disrespect, Casey the Boykin is a bit smarter...lol
Beautiful dog. I'm a sailor and Casey is my first mate. He thinks of the dinghy as his own boat. Drake is gone now, and sometimes i call Casey , Drake. But i am so thankful i recieved one of Josh's Boykins.

I was lucky enough to get a dog from this breeder, her name is Bella and you cant ask for a better dog for hunting and retrievering than these dogs, oh and the best cuddlers at home. These dogs just want to please you. I brought Bella to the vet and she told me to tell what ever breeder i got her from that they did a extraordinary job with her. So thank you so much JP's Boykins I cant say enoungh about you guys and my bella. Thank you so much.

Penney, our Boykin from Josh Pearcey is turning 5 this Autumn and is the most wonderful outdoor and indoor dog/companion our family could have asked for.
An amazing hunting instinct too and very athletic too.
She is calm and exemplifies the statement… “the small brown dog that does not rock the boat.”

We purchased Sam from Josh in 2020 and he never disappointed. Sam is every bit as capable in our big water as a Lab. He has no quit.

We absolutely LOVE our Boykin from Josh. He has provided us with a smart, well socialized beautifully tempered dog. He took his time to talk to us about the breed and training as well as putting a lot of effort into making sure he was raising well bred, well handled and very socialized little pups. Many people have commented on how beautiful, interactive and smart our Hunter is. I usually tell them that while I would love to take all the credit, that it is largely due to his wonderful start as a puppy.
