In June 2016 I bought a most amazing yellow lab puppy from Gene for the express purpose of certifying him in Search and Rescue. And in July 2018, Satchel and I certified through the International Police Working Dogs Association. This dog is now a wilderness Live Find K9 and hunts for missing citizens, young and old with the Indiana Search and Response Team. Satchel is everything Gene said and more. We couldn't be happier with him and recommend Gene's labs to anyone wanting a great hunting/working line lab.

Two years ago I purchased a pup which had a PDA, a genetic heart problem, and not related to breading, Gene provided me with another pup a year later, which I did not expect and he stood behind his dogs. Now a year later we have a fantastic yellow lab who has hunted in South Dakota and traveled to Canada. She has great natural hunting and retrieving instincts. I have owned labs for 25 years and will be back to Running W Retrievers again.
