Pine Bottom Gun Dogs - Ohio Braque Francais Breeders
About Pine Bottom Gun Dogs
We bought our first Braque Remi in Dec 2009 after reading about them in a magazine article that featured them at Brad Boisen Grand Ciel Lodge. After a lot of research about this remarkable breed of dog my family and I decided it was time to take a trip to South Dakota. 17 hours later we arrived at Brads and picked out this great puppy now called Remi. Remi quickly won the hearts of our whole family. My next concern was could he hunt. Remi didn't take long to ease my mind on that concern. In the fall 2011 we purchased Bella from High Ridge Gun Dogs. We had Bella out in the field as soon as possible to take some lessons from Remi. It didn't take me long to figure out Bella didn't need many hunting lessons. She come with her own set of qualifications. From a little pup she showed me what honoring point meant as she would back Remi on every point. When training and hunting sessions were over for the day they would curl up in our laps in the lazyboy.
I don't think anybody describes the Braque better than Brad Boisen in Tom Carpenters article in Gun Dog Mag Sept. 9th 2011 Calm quiet and easy going family dogs that become hunting demons in the field.

John King- We bought Gracie about a year ago and she has been amazing. Total sweetheart and so easy to train. Great with the kids and outstanding in the field. If we were ready, would buy another in a heartbeat! Highly recommend the breed, the bloodline, and this family!

We purchased our Abbey from Pine Bottom Gun Dogs in 2013 after much research. We were looking for the complete package and we certainly found it. Abbey is extremely intelligent, sweet, eager to please and an awesome hunter.
We were looking for a family dog and she is great with everyone. She loves to hunt. She is beautiful to watch and has a keen hunting instinct. Thank you Rod for breeding our beautiful Abbey, we love her!
Rob and his family were great to work with and answered all our questions. Ohio to Massachusetts is a long trip but thanks to Rod our Abbey made the trip seamlessly. A great experience.

We got our braque from Rod in 2013 and not only did we get a great dog, but he was wonderful to work with. The process was a little intimidating for us since we live in Texas and he was in Ohio, but Rod communicated with us the entire way through and made sure to answer all of our questions. He ensured that the dog we were picking would meet our needs. Rod went the extra mile for us and we highly recommend him.

Rod and his family are great. We were coming off the loss of our Lab and this was going to be my first bird dog. Rod spent hours on the phone with me and when we went to see the puppies Bella meet me at the car to say "HI". Rod answered all my questions and more. We brought our little girl home and my son named here Kimber. We could not be happier. She is a lap dog at home and will hunt birds for hours in the field. She has a switch that gets flipped when we go to the field as she does not socialize when she is out there she justs hunts. She is very obedient and listens very well. The only issues she has ever had was me not knowing what I was doing in training her, but we worked through that and now she thinks I am fully trained. Our family could not be any happier with Kimber, and she is very special to us.
