The French Spaniel is patient and playful with children. It would never harm a child. Despite its calm nature, the French Spaniel will warn its family if a stranger arrives.

My experience with this breeder has been the best I ever had. When deciding on a French Spaniel I did a search for breeders and found 4. I emailed all 4 breeders asking about the breed. I stated I wanted it for Search and Rescue, would the breed be able to do that. The only breeder ever to respond has been Pascal Hachey. From the beginning inquiry, through the I'm not sure I'm ready, to picking the right puppy he has been there. He answers any question concerning the breed, training, food. I told him what I needed in a dog and he suggested which puppies to checkout. When I had narrowed the selection down to a couple of puppies, he let me know that one of my choices had an umbilical hernia and overbite (he even emailed me pictures of the overbite). I did pick the one with the issues. I am in the States, so he worked with me on payments and even found my husband and me a place to stay when we came to pick-up the puppy. If I ever get another French Spaniel I would go back to Pascal Hachey.
