About Wildwind British Labradors

"Pure bred British Labrador Retrievers from outstanding imported British Field Trial Champions."

Wildwind British Labradors is a small, family operated breeding kennel, located just 20 miles south of Lincoln, Nebraska. Wildwind British Labradors specializes in sound breeding genetics through an extremely selective breeding program. After pups are on the ground, we put all of our attention toward the proper socialization of the every puppy.  Since we typically only have one litter at a time, and a maximum of four litters per year. We are able to devote 100% of our attention to your pup. It all starts from day one. We begin the socialization process with the "Super Puppy Program". Socialization does not end till the day the pup goes home.  We introduce each pup, together, and individually to as many different age appropriate environments, and experiences as possible.  Wildwind British Labradors has been a long time in the making. We have slowly evolved, and continue to strive to improve on what we are today.  Our ultimate goal is to produce healthy, genetically sound field dogs that are:

"As enjoyable in the home, as they are in the field."

Our dogs come from some of the top British Field Trial pedigree's available in the USA, from Imported British Field Trial Champions.  All of our breeding stock is hunted on a regular basis, on all types of game, over all sorts of terrain, under just about every hunting scenario possible.  We have announced the arrival of our newly imported Stud dog.  FTW Astraglen Ash - "Toby".  You can learn much more about him on our website.

On occasion, we will hold a pup, or two back.  We will keep it, and train it, for about a year, as if it were our own, to see how we are doing.  We will then sell these as started dogs if they have met our high standards, and expectations.

If you are looking for a british lab, look no further. Steve does a great job with his british lab breeding program. He will have one that will fit your needs. I have trained many british labs out of his lines and needless to say they rank at the top. He strives for perfection in his dogs and is a great person as well.

Steve -
Man,
She is a dream. I grew up with Brittany’s and short-hair’s and it was always fun to watch then naturally point, but they were basically out of control all the time. I am a complete convert.

She is sooo good. I am not pushing her tho. She totally sits on command and stays, (keeping it short). She sits and stays when I throw the bumper until I release her, blind, or facing. The retrieving was a given, but she is so willing to bring it and drop, that I have been astounded. It is no wonder that it is so easy to push these dogs too far, too fast. I am harnessing me, not her, to keep from pushing it.

Potty training was a breeze. From day 1, I have said “Hurry” when she went either #1 or #2. Now she is pretty much on command. Unexpected, but very handy for the future hunting trips.

She is an absolute joy and the smartest pup I have ever been around. I have never made a better investment. It is the same thing every time. She looks to me for a direction(hand-sign), then goes there looking, gets it, brings it, drops it. She is going to have such a soft mouth. It is really incredible for a 9 wk. old. It’s too bad she is being wasted on a rookie trainer like me, but I love her and am doing my best.

She is kind of at the center of everything right now for me. So, in short, she has brought me more joy than I ever could have imagined.

Thanks again Steve, I'm going to stay in touch.
Talk to you soon, I’m sure you get tons of similar emails from other owners.

We have been absolutely impressed with our experience of getting a pup from Wildwind. Steve and his family take incredible care of their dogs and the puppies and they socialize the dog from day one. We have children and 'Ranger', our yellow British lab, has been a perfect fit for our family. He is a quick learner who works hard outside but is also a joy to have in the house as he has a great disposition. I have also had the pleasure to have hunted with Charlie and Gunner, two of Steve's other labs, and they were incredible at both upland game and waterfowl, without a doubt some of the best dogs I have ever seen.

Thanks again Steve.
Take care.
