At Howell Retrievers our goal is to raise the best quality Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Golden Retrievers possible.  We research and check the health and temperaments of all our parents before purchasing them as a puppy.  We start out all of our puppies in the house, with our kids.   Puppies  are well socialized with people and other dogs. We feel that early socialization is the key to giving the pups a great start on a wonderful temperament.
When it is time for one of our females to be bred, she is kept almost continously in the house to provide them with the comfort and rest that every pregnant mother deserves.  Our females welp in the house and mom and pups stay in the house for the first 3 to 4 weeks or until they are too big to be kept contained to their welping box.
We feel that breeding is a lifetime commitment, we like to stay in touch with our puppie's new families, to help, laugh and cry with.  If for any reason you cannot keep your pup, we want to be the first ones that you contact.
We raise top quality Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, and field line Golden Retrievers for the marsh, for the field, for  the show ring, but especially for your family.   Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Golden Retriever stud service is available to approved females.
