Ridgeday Kennels of Montana - Montana German Shorthaired Pointer Breeders

We produce purebred AKC German Shorthaired Pointers out of championship bloodlines for the discriminating hunter. Our dogs are flashy, intense birdfinders. Any puppy, started dog, or finished dog we sell will be well socialized and guaranteed. We produce at most 2-3 litters a year, which allows us to spend a lot of time with the puppies working with them in varying degrees of cover; in the water; on the come, kennel and stay commands; and on socializing them with children and other dogs.  They are raised in a clean, healthy environment on our 50-acre kennel ground and are given a lot of love and attention. 

We carefully choose and match studs with dams. We also work to match purchasers with a puppy/dog right for them. Located in great bird (upland and waterfowl) country along the Tongue River in SE Montana, our dogs regularly hunt 4 upland bird species and retrieve ducks and geese. Even though we regularly force break to retrieve, our puppies are generally natural retrievers and love the water. 

We focus on females, but have at least one exceptional stud dog at any particular time available for on-site breeding. Again, we examine pedigrees carefully (as we expect you to) before consenting to any breeding. We take our job as a breeder seriously and will not breed our dogs unless we are satisfied that the resultant litter will improve the breed as a whole.
