About High Ridge Gun Dogs
My wife and I decided to breed our female due to the natural talent and eagerness to please she shows daily. We feel our female is the perfect example of what the Braque Francais is known for. Since breeding our "Tia"(Jersey Sporting dog Tia) we have added a few more to our home. We decided to keep a female from Tia's first litter "Karma" and in February of 2013 my wife traveled to France to pick up our first male dog "Jester", we also kept a pup from Tia's last and final litter another female "Ellie Mae". This breed of pointers of French origin is a close handling, mild mannered, eager to please gun dog that is also perfectly suited for living inside along the family. These are working dogs who love to hunt and are best suited for both upland birds and waterfowl. We committed ourselves to producing healthy, quality pups so our dam and sire have been tested and cleared CERF for their eyes and OFA for their hips. More photos are available upon request. We are raising these puppies in our home, as part of our family. To hopefully become part of your family too. UPDATE: We had our pup "Karma" from the first litter Natural Ability Tested with our local chapter of NAVHDA (Hickory Run) and could not have been more pleased she scored 110 pints for a prize 1 at 10 Months old. We had another pup" Luc" tested with NAVHDA scoring 103 for a prize 2 and yet another from our first litter "Jacques" recently won Top Amateur Pointer with the Bird Dog Challenge Circuit. We truly couldn't be more pleased, congratulations to all the dog's and handlers.

The best dogs available. We have had our Braque for just over a year now and she amazes us every day. A gentile and loving animal with unbelievable drive in the field. We have been so impressed with our dog, the bloodline and the breeder. High Ridge Gun Dogs truly delivers.

It's probably not too often that you'll have a review of a breeder when we did NOT get a dog from the breeder, but I felt compelled to write this. My husband and I wanted so badly to get one of Joe's and Laina's dogs, but the timing just wasn't working for us no matter how much we tried to think of other options. We ended up going with another breeder but I wanted to leave this review of Joe and Laina to say how wonderful they were. They have us tons of advice and even helped us assess the pedigree of the dog we were looking at with the other breeder. If we're ever going to get another Braque, we will look again for Joe and Laina.

High Ridge gundogs is the real deal....we picked up our pup scout a few weeks ago. If you are considering a braque francais look no further. At 3 months old he has impressed my wife and I at how smart he is and always willing to learn. Housebraking has been a breeze crate training even better and comes on command. He is calm while in the house and turns it on outside. Joe and his wife have been very helpful with questions about training. Great people who really care about there dogs and breeding. Thank you High Ridge Gundogs for our new addition!!

My teenage son and I picked up our first pup (first hunting dog ever) and could not be more pleased. We were shooting birds over him since he was 8 weeks old we were hunting with him at 12 weeks old. Joe and Laina have been nothing but professional, helpful and insightful with training our dog and members are amazed at our local club that we are successfully hunting over our 5 month old Braque. Can't wait for the next litter!

I cannot say enough about High Ridge Gun Dogs. I have had my puppy home for just over two weeks and couldn't be more impressed. He has been easy to house break, he started using his nose immediately and shows a willingness to please. The picking process was perfect and you see from the dogs Joe and Laina have that you are getting quality. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent...the best of the best! I couldn't ask for better people or dogs. If you are considering a Braque Francais, you will not be disappointed. Contact High Ridge Gun Dogs. I've hunted over our new puppy's mother and grandmother over the years. These dogs are impressive. After seeing these hunters work, I was completely convinced that this was the breed and lineage that I wanted. They will find the birds that other dogs pass over. After a few years of waiting for the right time, I finally pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier. My wife and sons, age 8 and 3 are delighted. Our new puppy is adjusting to his new home just fine.

Joe and Laina are great. I was looking into GSPs, and I am so thankful, I found this breed. When we visited the dam and pups, there was no barking (GSPs scared my oldest daughter to death when we visited); the dogs didn't jump on me or my children; they were everything I hoped I could find in a dog. Tia, the dam, is amazing, and I know that my pup is going to rock as well. I would recommend this breeding pair to anyone if there's another litter in the future. They're a little more than some GSPs, but a day will never go by when you regret spending the extra money.
