Picked up a female griffon about 1.5 year ago. She is a hard hunting, sweetheart in the house, lively goofball, with absolute off switch in the blind/house, and always ready to party when I start playing with her.
She has a perfect 112 NA, I was even complimented by the NAVHDA president who was our lead judge leaving the search field about having a "great hunting dog". She ran the search like greased lightning at about 40-60 yard on open field. Landed 5 statue points and is always very biddable. Tracking, she B-lined down the trail, circled down wind to check, hit the track again and back onto another statue point. Didn't even throw the bumper before she was ready in the water so no issues there. Probably will be a 2023 UT as I might not have time this year to dedicate.
We always get compliments as she has a great look and plays very well with other dogs. Even at the public dog parks where things can be a little sketchy she has had no issues with aggression. She shows a well bred griffon is a fast, go over all terrain, loyal, high drive, intelligent hunter, and not afraid to go into the nasties to find the birds.
Physical stats: 45-50 lbs depending on season, medium coarse/medium harsh judged, no teeth issues, straight body hair, heavy furnishings. No hip or DNA yet.
Highly recommend the breeder. Bart has spent hours with me on the phone over the last 2 years whenever I have a question or issue he is talking to me ASAP. We also swap our hunting stories and have talked other pairings for Sky as I meet different griffons through NAVDHA events. Bart is very calculated about what he is doing with his pairings and has experience outside griffons for dog breeding.
My only issue is he lives so far away it will be hard to get the mother and daughter duo together again on a hunt but we will make it happen. This was a JIMMY DES ETANGS D’ASSAT pairing.
