I recently purchased a German Shorthair Pointer puppy from River Valley Kennels.
This is my first GSP as I've always had Labrador Retrievers.
I was referred to Pete from a client who has a beautiful calm well behaved GSP who loves to hunt, just what I was looking for.
I called Pete, he is a easy going man who clearly has a passion for his dogs and his breeding of puppy's.
He did all the medical pre-exams on Rogue (the bitch) had ultrasound and X-rays done. To make sure her and the puppy's were all in good health before she delivered.
The dewclaws and the tails were done very very professionally by the veterinarian after the puppy's were whelped. lastly first vaccinations/deworming and health exam done before Johnny was allowed to leave for my home.
Pete is awesome and helped through the process of choosing a puppy. He has since helped me with any training questions I've had in training.
Pete cares about how the puppy's are doing even after sold. That should tell a lot, never got a phone call or text from any of the lab breeders on how my puppy's did after leaving the litter, but I did from Pete, was a unexpected pleasant surprise!
These puppy's were bred for both competition in field trail and hunting.
I'm not a field trail person but am a avid pheasant hunter.
Johnny my GSP is now 17 weeks old, yes he's a puppy but a smart easy to train youngster. Can't wait for pheasant season!
I would buy another puppy from Pete with no hesitation.

I can not say enough about how impressed I was with the experience I had working With River Valley Kennels. Pete went well out of his way to make the process easy and enjoyable for me and my family. The facility is top notch and I was impressed with the given to each animal. Our short haired pointer just turned two in April 2014 and has become both an excellent Grouse, Woodcock and Pheasant dog but also wonderful addition to our family.
