We raise hunting quality Gordon Setters. We usually have one litter a year. They are raised in our home and have extensive bonding. Our Gordons are are CA and OFA free. Our dogs range from 45 to 60 pounds. They have strong pointing and bird finding abilities and hunt hard in the field. Besides being great hunters, they are great family and house dogs. Our Clearcut Dakota 2XBandit (Gordon Setter) was our first female Gordon Setter. She passed her Master Hunt tests at 18 months and 22 days. Her bloodline is continuing with all our offspring. Probably the youngest female Master Hunter Gordon Setter. We only breed to hunting dogs. You can't go wrong with one of our healthy pups for many years to come. What is CCA? It is a neurodegenerative condition. A lot of breeders don't know what it is. Some breeders know what it is and will not test for it. It is a terrible disease that shortens a dog's life. They have very limited control of their body motions. In our case, we bred to a borrowed male stud dog that showed no signs of CCA. Some dogs will not show the disease. We had 50% of the 3 litters with him had CCA (2 genes). If they don't get the disease, they will have at 1 CCA gene. This will not affect the dog unless you breed it to another dog with a CCA gene. Then that litter will have pups with CCA or be a carrier. The disease will go on and on. All it takes is a simple inexpensive test to rule out the gene and not continue passing it on.
