Bird Dog Kennels AKC Started Retrievers - Minnesota Labrador Retriever Breeders

We are breeders and trainers of high quality Started AKC Labrador and Golden Retrievers.

Our kennel is located in Battle Lake, Minnesota, in the heart of duck and goose country. We are dedicated to training and breeding top quality retrievers for Hunt Test, Hunting and all-around
family pets.

We focus our breeding program on producing sound, tractable young dogs that are bred for temperament, ability, and rugged "Classic" conformation. Our retriever puppies are born at our home and are part of our family until they are ready to leave here.

When they leave here they will be obedience trained, force fetched conditioned, trailing and tracking cripples, swimming through decoys, both out of boats and blinds. They will also have experience with gunfire, pheasants, ducks and other various birds, including quail & chukars.

The pups are around eight months old when they leave here.

All members of our breeding stock are AKC registered, OFA and CERF certified and have Hunt Test & FC/ AFC championship bloodlines. Parents are hard driving, close-working hunters, who are upland and cold water working hunters.
