About Alfredo Di Nardo & Crooked Pine Spinone

About ALFREDO DI NARDO SPINONE

I have been involved with Spinone since 1996. My first Spinone, Morghengo Alfredo came from DI MORGHENGO kennels in Canada.  He is one of the top stud dogs in the breed history in the US,  having produced 18 champions and outstanding hunters. My second Spinone, Leonardo also came from Di Morghengo kennels. I then traveled to Italy and brought back a female from EPITHELIUM Kennels. These were my foundation stock dogs. All my breeding  has Alfredo or Leonardo in their background. From there moving forward a female was imported from DEL SUBASIO Kennels in Italy, who became #1 Spinone in 2005 and who produced the male I have today, Ricco, and along with a female, daughter of Alfredo, imported from DONNA LIBERATA Kennel in Sweden, they form a new foundation with a new kennel name. Pictured is Ch Leonardo Del Aldo Di Morghengo and his son "Orlo"

I strive to keep the health, structure, hunting ability and temperament of the Spinone as the Italians who developed this breed would like it to remain.

now working with

CROOKED PINE SPINONE

Our dogs are bred for breed type and function, It is important a Spinone can hunt but just as important is sound structure, temperament and health. First and foremost our dogs are family companions who live in our homes. Puppies are raised in home environment, socialized with older dogs, children, and even cats. We do health testing on our breeding stock and encourage anyone looking for a Spinone to insist on seeing proof of health tests. Good breeders are happy to discuss this and show you proof. Good breeders also insist you come to their  home to pick up the puppies in person. If a breeder doesn't want you to see their environment, that should be a red flag.

All our puppies will be introduce to wing and water, sold on contract, and placed as house pets. They will be wonderful to have for hunt/show/obedience/therapy/junior handling/rally or just to be with you to show their love.

Health Guaranteed -

All puppies will be vet checked & first shots given

AKC papers provided

Visitors welcome anytime (allowed to see puppies when they are old enough)

We are members of The Michigan Sporting Dog Association,  Blue Water Spinone Association and N.A.V.H.D.A. AKC Breeder of Merit. Active in obedience, field training and showing.

We recieved our puppy Galileo in the summer of 2018 and he is a delight. Solid animal who is good as all aspects of being a great Spinone. Sue Moen is one of the finest people and breeders we have ever met. Her dogs are a reflection of her excellence.

I found my best Friend from Sue in 2006 Fabio Stephano, sadly he was put to sleep on 10/20/2018. He was an amazing dog, all the things she says she breeds in a dog are true. His overall appearance was so beautiful we were stopped on the street, cars would pull over his entire life. My Icandy. His personality and playful youthful style was there to end. His overall health was good though the years, until his heart was failing. But lived a long life 12 years 5 months.
I am hoping to get another puppy from Sue when she breeds again. I turned 60 and could not find a better companion to grow old with....

I met Ruthann Dewey & Sue Moen last year when I got my first puppy from them. This puppy, now a young adult, is everything a spinone italiano should be - well-bred, friendly, confident, gentle, loving, etc. Both Ruthann and Sue are proud advocates of the breed and very knowledgeable. They're always available to answer my questions and share information. I couldn't have asked for a better kennel(s)for my introduction to this breed.

We have a Spinone that is now 12 yrs old and has the original lines from Sue Moen's Alfredo. We could not be more pleased with how well our "Aldo" has done. He has been very healthy and only recently has aged to some degree but still enjoys playing at 12 years old. He has been in the show ring, the obedience ring and has been used as a model for judges to understand spinone sturctore for confirmation at clinics. I would not hesitate to acquire another Spinone from Alfredo Di Nardo and Crooked Pine Spinone...they are serious breeders and have the dogs health and welfare first and formost.

I've known both of these breeders for over 10 years and would recommend them. They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of Spinoni and helpful to owners with questions or problems.

I am fortunate enough to call Sue Moen "My Friend" I have two Spinone from her and co-own two others as well. She has always supported me in whatever adventure I decided to do with my dogs. She has been my mentor and always guided me in the right direction. I have driven her nuts on a few occasions ;) But all in all she has always been there for me. Sue gives of her time and knowledge she speaks at Judges Seminars to educate the up and coming generations. Sue is a true protector of the breed. Sue will stand behind each and every pup that she produces. And I can never thank her enough for Miss Nicks, Mera, Nunzio, Inga and Caprice they are my heart and soul.... I have known Susan Moen and Ruthann Dewey-Weldon for over 11 years and I consider than not only excellent breeders of the Spinone Italiano, but also extremely knowledgeable, caring and friendly breed specialists. One of my Spinoni, Justin, was a finished AKC Champion, accomplished hunting dog with many hunt title as well as a loving and friendly home companion dog who traces his lineage back to the Leonardo/Alfredo pedigree. I highly recommend Alfredo Di Nardo and Crooked Pine Spinone.
