About Pickett's Pointers
I have a recent found love for German Shorthair Pointers and their traditions. I am 24 years old and just now getting into bird hunting (or should I say watching dogs hunt birds). My dad and I were always anglers never hunters, but as I take these dogs out I fall in love with them and the sport more and more each time. I only have two dogs my boy Micky and my girl Mia and we are training every day. Weather it be something small and simple for repetition to keep the pups sharp, or spending a day in the fields working on our steadiness and retrieves. I plan on taking them to a NAVHDA test towards the end of the year or beginning of next year once we have everything down pat. These are my only two dogs and will remain my only dogs until I have them both finished dogs with excellent NAVHDA test results to back it up. If you want to purchase a puppy or use my boy for a stud, we would be more than happy to have you come into the field with us so you can see exactly how much progress we've made and how great of hunters and listeners these dogs truly are. You can't teach a dog to hunt you can only teach obedience and the hunting is definitely deep in my babies' veins. As I take them to tests and trials I will update you on their progress. But as I said I plan on having them finished before I take them to test and they will complete a NAVHDA test before competing in trials against other dogs.
