I contacted Roger three years ago and was able to get in on his first litter of dogs. I got a male named Archie. As a first time bird dog owner, Roger always answered my questions, referring me to training manuals, and the Natural ability test. Archie was very smart and easy to train. I wouldn’t hesitate buying another Pudel Pointer from Roger in the future.

We purchased our first versatile hunting pup -Luna- from Roger and Tana 3 years ago. They were very helpful before, during, and after picking up Luna. Roger referenced to training materials for training, hunting, and the NAVHDA natural ability test, and honestly, besides the basic obedience, Luna did not need much training at all as she naturally has an excellent point, retrieve (land and water), track and of course an affectionate family member (she cant get enough pets or belly rubs!). She's a fast learner, eager to please, and we continue to grow our skills into the waterfowl realm.

I was very impressed with the facilities at Smokn Creek Kennels, along with Roger and his wife. Diesel was born in December of 2023. He was hunting at 10 weeks old, pointing birds, not afraid of gun fire. As for his demeanor he is the best pup I have ever had. Very calm and as a pup really didn’t get into a lot of trouble. He is good with water, been doing an excellent job tracking birds. He is going to be an awesome hunting dog. I would highly recommend getting a pup for them.

My husband and I contacted Smokin Creek Pudelpointers alittle over 2 years ago, and hands down best decision we ever made. We are a waterfowl hunting household, both my husband and I both hunt. So it was important to find breeder we felt took the best care of their dogs. After talking with Roger, I knew we had found our breeder. They were so knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly Roger and his family took the time to send us pictures, videos, etc of the puppy we choose. 8 weeks later we left with our Levi. My husband has had labs, german short hair, etc. Levi our Pudelpointer has over exceeded our exceptions, hands down best hunting dog we have ever had. The drive he has, the natural ability and instinct for birds is incredible. He thrives off training, hunting and tracking. In the near future, we are already talking about adding to our family with another pudelpointer from Smokin Creek Pudelpointers. Incredible people = incredible Pudelpointers!

Our experience with Smokn' Creek Pudelpointers has exceeded anything we could have hoped for. Roger and Tana kept us in the loop from before our puppy was born, all the way through the time that we were able to pick her up and gave us frequent updates and pictures along the way. Our experience did not stop at the pick up of our puppy with them. We are not first time dog owners, but we are first time hunting dog owners, so we had many questions in regards to care and training and Roger was very responsive and enthusiastic to answer all of our questions. You can really tell how much they enjoy and care about their business, their dogs, and their customers. We went on to send our dog, Zuma, back to Roger and Tana for training and again we had a phenomenal experience - they kept us updated along the way, provided quality training, and sent us home with the knowledge to continue Zuma's training ourselves and feel confident. Smokn' Creek provided us with not only a great hunting dog, but a fantastic family companion that we and our three year old son adore. We can't wait to purchase another dog from them in the future!
