About Log Cabin Family Farm Kennels

Log Cabin Family Farm Kennels
Blackmouth Curs For Sale

We're a small family farm and kennel nestled in the prairie of Southern Illinois.  We are very excited about what our BMCs  have to offer you.  Our dogs come from a long line of ole' time BMC dogs.  They are just great all around dogs.    They have a natural instinct for treeing, herding, varmint control and family protection.  They live to please. We believe they will perform on the farm and hunt and tree, if trained to do so.  We wouldn't be without our BMC on our small farm.

Our BMC will not only hunt, herd and protect, but they are great with children.  They may go out in the woods and hunt, but they will want to curl up with the baby when they are home!  We have 5 kiddos of our own, so a dog that's good with children is a must.  Our BMCs will let you know if they think the kiddos are in harm's way.

Here at Log Cabin Family Farm Kennel raising BMCs is a family affair.  Everyone pitches in and helps with the care and training of your puppy.  Your puppy will have had 2 rounds of shots, 2 dewormings before you pick him up and he will receive lots of love and attention on a daily basis.  Usually by the time they go home with you, they will not have any accidents in their crates (assuming you do consider their need to use the potty) and they will have started listening to simple commands like come, sit, etc.

Thank you for considering one of the pups from Log Cabin Family Farm Kennel. We're proud of the BMC cross we are producing - you won't find it anywhere else. If you're thinking of trying a BMC, we would appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your family.

Pics of our Dam Liberty  and her previous pups can be seen here http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k508/LogCabinFamilyFarm/.

We will accept a $50 deposit to hold a pup. $325 each.

We should have pups available by end of July.  If you are interested, please call and reserve your puppy.  We are taking deposits now. Being a small kennel, it may be a year or more before we have more puppies available.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  We appreciate your time in checking us out.  Click the link lower on the page to see what puppies are available now. Thank you!

God Bless You!

Bob and his wonderful children came to pick up a pup from me. They are truly nice folks with a great kennel. When looking for a well bred dog check with them.

We love our pup!! He was obviously well taken care of when we received him. Our Boone is the sweetest, most loving dog! I have never been around a dog so loyal and attached to its family. He adores our kids and never leaves there side. We would never have to worry about him running off because he can't stand to be away from his family. Boone also listen very well. His feelings get hurt when he is in trouble. It's important to him to please us. Very easy to train! Also Lisa stayed in constant contact with us until we got our pup and we still communicate and send pictures. They are great to work with and are always more than willing to offer advice and answer questions. I would highly recommend Log Cabin Family Farm Kennels!

I was in Tech.school retraining in Texas for the US Air Force when I found Bob and Lisa's ad for BMC's. Lisa was wonderful to talk to. I described what I was looking for in a pup and what my situation was at home. I have 2 kids and didn't need a pup that was overly aggressive or dominant. I trusted Lisa to pick out the perfect pup for us, sight unseen, and she didn't fail us. I would recommend them completely.

We had debated on what breed of dog we wanted to get as our family pet/hog hunter. After adequate research we found Bob and Lisa Tennyson. Once we had talked to Lisa we knew that we wanted a Black Mouth Cur. She had two males left and we decided to take both. We weren't able to make the drive until they were ten weeks old and they were gracious enough to hold them and continue to care for them until our arrival. We made the drive from Oklahoma to Illinois to pick up our boys and we could not have been more pleased. They were both very healthy and had been taken very good care of. Since, we have thoroughly enjoyed them and couldn't be more proud. They are extremely smart, protective and sweet. Luckily I hadn't babied them too much as my husband found that they were a different dog once they were put on a hog. They have turned out to be very sweet, loving pets as well as vicious hunters.

Our Nelli (Benelli) is from Lisa and Bob's kennel. From the first contact with Lisa our experience was wonderful. We drove from Michigan to pick up our Nelli. We were welcomed by most of the family (Bob was working). We could tell that Liberty was a family pet and loved by the family. Lisa gave us toys and food and Nelli's full medical history. We are so enjoying our puppy. She has a great temperament and is so smart. She is beautiful and has great markings. The vet says that she is a very healthy puppy and one of the best that he's seen. We want to thank Bob and Lisa and all of the children for a truly personal experience! We've been to breeders that have to bring dogs from a kennel to show them to us and there are multiple dogs on site. Bob and Lisa truly provide a personal and wonderful experience! Thank you so much!

I purchased a Black Mouth Cur pup from from Lisa and Bob Tennyson on July 30,2011. Lisa is very knowledgeable on the subject of BMC's. From the first phone conversation with her I knew that I wanted one of her pups. It was a very good decision, all the pups were healthy and happy. The family interacted with the pups on a constant basis, the living conditions were clean and puppy friendly. It was a wonderful experience working with the Log Cabin Family Farm Kennels and would recommend them to everyone that wants a Black Mouth Cur.

Bob and Lisa (and family), Thank you so much for our Nelli (Benelli). From the first phone call to our visit to your home to pick up our pup you made this such a family experience. I appreciate you telling us her traits that had surfaced as well as supplying us with toys that would make her transition easier. The puppy food also helped greatly as our suppliers here did not have that type. Your appreciation of the pics we've sent and the phone call to check on her meant so much! Knowing that this pup came from a family environment where the pups were played with and loved made us very comfortable with you. As we've had her for almost 3 weeks now I can tell you that her love and attention to us and her buddy Hurley (our 2 1/2 year old BMC) show that that love and attention created a very loving puppy. Her nose and ears are amazing as she is always trying to find what her senses are experiencing. She does not back down from our male and she is getting much more comfortable with exploring our territory. Thank you so much for everything that you've done for us!

I have owned bmc's in past so I had some experience with these dogs. I knew what I was looking for and had contacted several breeders without being interested in doing buisness with them. My experience with Log Cabin Family Farm Kennels was and continues to be exemplary. Lisa listened to the type of dog I was looking for-she told me about her dog and the sire without attempting to apply pressure sales. She sent pictures of the pups and has been willing to answer any concerns I had. My daughter went with me to pick up "JAKE". She commented on the way home how nice the tennison family acted. If I need another bmc, I will contact the Log cabin family farm kennels again. Good people...

I have been raising BMC's for over 10 years now.
I own Knierim's Captian Courageous and Knierim's Major who is a full brother/litermate to Libby.
I was so excited when Bob & Lisa contacted me about making this cross. I have 2 of the female puppies from this litter. I picked them up on Aug. 1st. They are in excellant health. They already know their names and come when called. They are even sitting and shaking hands. I can't wait to get these little girls in the woods.
As far as the Bob and Lisa and their crew. You can't find more qualtiy folks. You will truly be blessed by dealing with them.
Bro. Kevin
