About Payette Lake Kennel
Moki Payette River Duchess is registered both AKC and NAVHDA. She is almost five years, having a previous litter of nine in May 2016, sired by Mr Brown from Hunhill Kennels of Wilder, Idaho. My husband Rick hunts Moki all season - they hunt upland game birds in Central Idaho. She has a very close coat, desirable for a field dog and she is an unbelievable family dog - loves everyone- especially our two year old granddaughter, Sybil. We focus on hunting families when we place our puppies and hunters have responded with amazement about the Griffon's amazing gun-dog abilities. Cool Cash from Hunhill Kennels was the sire this year - Moki was bred in June - puppies expected late August. The pups have a large fenced outside area to run, climb hills, and they are socialized with people of all ages before they go to homes at eight weeks. We will be taking $400 non-refundable deposits in late July to reserve a pup.

Three years ago I acquired a male Griffon puppy from Deb and Rick Fereday.
Zeke, the young male I got has excellent conformation. Deb is a by-the -book breeder who does not take shortcuts. I have hunted quail, chukar, pheasants, sharptail and ducks for over 50 years. I have owned and trained Irish setters, Brittany spaniels, German shorthairs, Hungarian Vislas and for the last 25 years Deutch Drathaars. Zeke is my first Griffon. He was well socialized when I got him but has really blossomed since he hangs out with me at my office. His personality is sanguine. He is extremely intelligent and biddable. He housebroke in three days! He hunts joyously. As a house dog he alerts to strangers at the door but is not a barker. He gravitates to women and children and would make an excellent family dog. I am familiar with Hun Hill Kennels where Zekes' sire is from and Frank Puccio's dogs are top notch. If you like a close working pleasant
hard working hunting companion, these are top notch dogs.

We purchased our female griff in August of 2016. She is just the best! A great hunter with incredible drive. She has attended training with Hun Hill Kennels that was worth every penny! She is a very special member of our family and makes us smile daily! Deb & Rick are great breeders and take great care to see that they deliver A+ pups! I would love to have one from this next litter but we just can’t do two dogs justice!!

I purchased my Griff from Rick and Deb Fereday in June of 2016. It was a wonderful experience. My wife and two daughters (6 and 9 years old at the time) were able to visit the pups frequently to help determine which one we wanted. The pups had lots of room to play with their siblings and were very well taken care of. All of the dogs were very well socialized and it was a difficult decision to narrow it down to one but we made our choice. We named our dog Lenya and she has spent the past 3 years with little girls crawling all over her. She is the most even tempered hunting dog I have ever owned. She listens to commands. She has a good nose and is proficient at locating Chukar in the Salmon River country. Lenya holds a point very well and has the style to go along with it. She retrieves and we have never had any issues with her being gun shy. Most importantly is a close member of the family. She has plenty of energy when it is time to hunt or play. She is also content to lay on the porch and wait for the kids to come home from school. I would highly recommend purchasing a pup from Payette Lake Kennel. Rick and Deb take care of the pups like they are their own kids and spend a lot of time working with them.
