About FireStarter Kennels

FireStarter Kennels is the proud home of FC Making R-Point "Dylan", 2013 #9 Nationally ranked FC FireStarter's Crossed the Line "Ty," Skyline Brittany Club's 2011 Dual Dog of the year Ch FireStarter's Clear Winter Night "Eve," FireStarter's Country Girl, and 2009 #23 Nationally ranked Brittany gun dog DC/AFC Timberline Strait to the Point, JH, "Sawyer."

*Dylan was the 1999 all breed All Age dog of the year in Colorado, and won the dual dog award at the 1997 American Brittany Western Futurities.

*Sawyer finished his FC at 3.5 years of age, his Dual Championship at just over 5 years, and his Amt Field Championship at just over 7 years old. He was Skyline Brittany Club's Show Dog of the year in 2006 and 2010, Gun Dog of the year in 2009, as well as making the top 25 gun dog brittanys in the country in 2009!  He has also proven he can produce puppies that do well in both the show and field.

*Ty has earned multiple honors, including 2012 Skyline Gun Dog of the year, Best of Breed at the AKC Gun Dog Nationals in 2013, and was ranked #9 Gun Dog Brittany in the nation last year despite only being on the national circuit for 1/2 of the year.  He sure is a special dog, and we are looking forward to seeing what he does this year!

*Eve earned her show championship in 2012 and has multiple field placements.  She got reserve at the American Brittany Club National Specialty in 2011 and made the final cut in the breed class in 2012 too! She is a hard runner, just like both of her parents, and we're excited to see what she can do in the field!

We strive for the dual Brittany, and compete in field trials, american field trials, hunt tests as well as shows.  While Andi does all of the show training and handling, we strongly recommend Hideaway Kennels ( ) in Calhan, CO for any hunting and/or field trial training/handling that you may need.

We do have litters occasionally in house, but we have 4 stud dogs that sire litters;

DC Timberline Strait to the Point JH "Sawyer"

FC Making R-Point "Dylan" (Limited frozen semen available)

FC FireStarter's Crossed the Line "Ty"

DC Sunnyvale Point of Interest JH "Luke" (8th Generation Dual Champion, frozen semen available)

We also do offer started dogs occasionally.

Andi is also a show handler and an obedience trainer.

I have been very impressed with my dealings with Andi Christensen and FireStarter Kennels. I am a fellow breeder in Texas and first met Andi a five years ago when I bred one of my females (Weatherby) to her nice Dual Champion Stud Dog (Sawyer). We have stayed in touch ever since and have shared, tips, advice, thoughts and a multitude of experiences along the way. She is great at sending weekly photos and updates of the dogs / puppies. I have since meet all of her dogs -- they are all beautiful dogs with great temperaments that are all happy to curl up on your lap and cuddle, as well as, being stellar field and show dogs. This past year brother and sister-in-law got a puppy (Haddington) that she bred, it was quite apparent to me he had a wonderful head start before he made his way down south. I would highly recommend FireStarter Kennels to anyone looking for a high quality and well socialized dog for the field, show ring, or for a great family pet.

Andi Christensen and Fire Starter Kennels deserve the highest and finest possible ratings. My wife and I contacted Andi when we wanted to learn about the Brittany. We had an extensive background with tracking, flushing, and retrieving breeds. We knew nothing about pointers in general or the Brittany. Andi was extremely gracious and gave us the information that we needed. Andi and her mother, Tracey, know the Brittany and were willing to share their knowledge with us. Last fall,an 11 month old had been returned with little to no training. "Gold rush Brittany to the Max" came to stay at our home and in our hearts. He proved to be an affectionate, energetic and playful pup who responded quickly to training. This spring, on his first weekend outing he completed the first 25% of his Jr. Hunting Championship points. The next weekend, he placed 4th, behind 3 dogs with professional training and handling, and ahead of several who had the same. He is obviously a superior and talented bird dog who loves to hunt with me. He is one of the happiest creatures on the planet and I would not sell him at any price. Great genetics and excellent guidance from Andi made it possible. Remember, I am a relative beginner with a great pup. I doubt that you could find better puppies anywhere else. Thank you Andi! Last year, we purchased Max, now an 18-mo. old Brittany [Goldrush Brittany to the Max] from Corey Ling and Andi Christensen, owner of FireStarter Kennels. All of our interaction with Andi has been top-notch. We are new to Brittanys; we've learned so much from Ms. Christensen, who always finds time to answer our questions plus help us with our pup.

In 2011, Andi encouraged us to enter Max in A.K.C Hunt Tests and Field Trials. Max is a tribute to FireStarter's breeding program: he now has 1/4 of his points for junior hunt test champion, plus he placed 4th in his first A.K.C Field Trial. Careful breeding is the only reason an amateur handler [my husband] could do this well with a novice dog.

We love to hunt pheasants. Thanks to FireStarter breeding program, we now have a very capable partner [Max] for South Dakota.

I would strongly recommend FireStarter Brittany pups to anyone looking for a well-bred, even-tempered gun dog.
