About Bluewater Bird DogsBluewater Bird Dogs specializes in developing performance pointing dogs for the serious hunter and field trialer. Trainer/handler Wayne Down campaigns Brittanys on the Western field trial circuit in spring and fall and trains in summer on wild birds in northeastern Montana. The "dog wagon" leaves from Northern California in late June, bound for prairie lands populated by sharp-tail grouse, Hungarian partridge and pheasant. Transportation to and from Montana to California or points in between can be arranged. Summer camp lasts six to eight weeks. Make reservations now for your hunting companion or field trial prospect. All pointing breeds welcome! Tune-ups, foundation training and puppy introduction to wild birds a specialty.
Bluewater is not a breeding operation but we do produce a litter every two to three years. One or two pups may be available from a littler born Nov. 14 to our FC Bluewater Shady Pete, a true all-age dog; and Bluewater Coral, a snappy liver-and-white gun dog with puppy and derby points.
