Note from Owen's owner. Owen was raised on a game farm for six months before Bruce started training him. yes he points a holding bird - we do not promote it with him. Sometimes when he is on a bird we will whistle sit so we can catch up. So he is patient when asked and that may foster its continuing. he will generally point at least one bird a hunting day - he will also catch wild birds in South Dakota.

Owen has been on the Mississippi River in December hunting divers a mile off shore and Wood Duck hunts in GA - Grouse, Quail and pheasant all around the United States. He has hunted with VanEngen, Attar, Halverson, Sletten and many other pro trainers. Owen is an extraordinary dog hunting - he is qualified all age, qualified for Master National and the only dog allowed to hunt on the guided trips in pool nine on the Mississippi Rive with Flyway Fowling. They are the only coast guard approved guide service on that part of the river. His owner has 12 trial dogs including seven all age dogs, four have been to the National Championships - Owen is the best natural hunter we have. If a person starts the pups right they will have years of extraordinary service from his puppies.
