Ridgeday Kennels of Montana announces its only breeding of the year: AKC German Shorthaired Pointer puppies available for delivery on or about December 13, 2010. Accepting deposits at this time to hold your position in the selection order. The sire is liver and roan; the dam is white and liver with heavy ticking. The pups should have a lot of color. Both these dogs are hunted extensively on wild birds. We were so impressed with the sire, Prairie's Edge Tippy, and his accomplishments and pedigree, that we drove our female, Sunday, from Montana to Wisconsin to have her bred. A 30-hour round trip and then we had to go back for her once she was bred. But the pups should be worth it. This is the only litter we are producing this year. Both the sire and dam are hunted extensively on wild birds. They are gentle and have exuberant and sparkling personalities and love to hunt. SIRE: NAFC NAGDC FC AFC Prairie's Edge Tippy. In 2009 he won the GSPCA NAFC title. Tippy is ranked #1 in the GSPCA in the Amateur Gun Dog through 2009. He is also ranked #6 in the NGSPA in the Amateur Gun Dog through 2007. In the spring of 2008 in Missouri he won the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship to add a third title to his name. Tippy has over 30 placements out of 50 trials. He has great conformation with dual potential. His hips are rated OFA Excellent. Tippy is an honest shooting dog. He will stare down a bird with great intensity and stand it all day. He hunts wild birds, field trials and is a great house dog all at the same time. Tippy is the great grandson of the great DC Hillhaven's Hustler. We hunt her extensively on wild birds. This is Sunday's second litter. Her first litter produced excellent bird dogs with great natural pointing and retrieving instincts. We've field trialed Sunday on a limited basis and she is showing excellent promise in the NSTRA trialing format. Sunday is both a steady hunting dog and a joy in the house.
