Max is one of the top setters in the grouse woods. His sire is 5x Champion Pennstar and Dam is full sister to Centerfold Rose and Pioneer Will two of the top setters of all time.Max pointed grouse at a young age winning the Minnesota Championship Derby as a puppy pointing two grouse in the 30 minute stake. He continued his winning ways as a derby winning the Flannigan Award for the top grouse derby dog in the country. In addition to winning many open grouse dog stakes he won the Wisconsin Championship with a field of 54 dogs and won Runner-up Champion in the Northern Michigan Championship with a field of 86 dogs. Max won the 2011 National Grouse and Woodcock Invitational Championship besting the top grouse dogs in the country. Max has won grouse competitions in five states.
