About Skyview Kennel

Skyview Kennel is a small kennel located in the beautiful mountains of Floyd County, Virginia.  We are lucky enough to own, hunt and breed German Shorthaired Pointers with some of the best bloodlines in the country and have had great success raising, breeding and selling German Shorthaired Pointers that excel as hunting dogs for the trial competitor as well as the wild bird hunter. Shorthairs touched our lives and hearts over 15 years ago and we have been hooked ever since.   We produce only a couple litters per year and are proud that our dogs are not only great natural hunters but become gentle, loving family companions as well. We were honored to receive a Breeders Award from the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America for the accomplishments of DC Gamble's Odyssey Blitz SH born here to our Fritz's Fancy Girl. We are very proud of Blitz (owned by R. A. Pearson and trained at Walnut Hill Kennels) who achieved his AKC Dual Championship in 2014.

We are also proud to announce the May 18, 2017 birth of 10 beautiful pups by Turtle Creek Bear (Natural Ability Prize I with perfect score of 112) and Skyview's Dixieland Sweetheart.  The pups are $900.00 each. Please email us for more information.

I purchased my pup, Butch, from Les in July 2011. Well socialized pup, stylish and full of energy. A bit strong willed, but runs with authority. Trained fairly easily. Loved birds from the get-go and I began shooting over him at 16 weeks.

Ran UFTA and Upland Classic. Won the UFTA Amateur National Pointing championship February 2015.

He is a big boy at 73 pounds and better than 25" at the shoulder.

He would be a great sire with the right female. Send email.

We got our GSP Jaeger from Denise and Les at Skyview last September (2014) and he is the most amazing and wonderful dog we have ever had! Wonderful temperament, beautiful profile and one of the smartest dogs around! We get so many compliments about him and it makes me so proud to be his owner! Thank you Skyview and we look forward to our next pup in 2016!
