Mr. Grones -
I bought a female pup from you, out of Gator Pts Brownwater Kobe and
Princesa Rosalina Carmela Bacon, born Feb. 11th of this year. I named her
Jigs.
I took Jigs for her first hunt this weekend - dove hunting. I guided,
along with 3 other guys, 28 guys on a dove hunt in Eden, Texas. I was so
proud of Jigs. She's not quite 7-months old and retrieved like a pro! She
obeyed all the commands, never missed a bird, retrieved on land, in the
water, live birds, dead birds - she never missed a beat!
The picture of Jigs with her birds is the first day - a hunt for the
guides. But she did GREAT!! See how proud she looks? -- she "poised" for
this picture -- and of course, you can see how proud I am of her.
She has exceeded all my expectations and continues to learn & progress.
She can easily retrieve doubles, blind and long distances. She's been
doing
this for a month - since she was 6-months old. Every hunter was very
impressed and couldn't believe she was just a 7-month old pup, with so
much
patience and "want to". She's a keeper!!!
Thanks for your advise on Tom Dokens book -- I've followed it every step
of the way and she's WAY ahead of where he says she should be!
