WE have two DeCoverly girls, Dottie and Quinn, and our daughter owns a male Brinkley. We absolutely adore them. We live iand hunt grouse and pheasant in N. D. and our dogs excel at both. We have also hunted with another DeCoverly owner in Wisconsin, for Ruff grouse and woodcock. All the dogs do beautifully. Most things worth having are not cheap and our girls are worth every penny we paid for them!!!

My wife and I own a 4 1/2 year old DeCoverly Setter. While we do not hunt him; he is an absolute joy to have in our home. Smart, athletic and full of character Recently I've read posts on other web site regarding the operations at DeCoverly, the owner, Ken Alexander and of the abilities of the dogs. Let me tell you first had; DeCoverly Kennels is a top notch operation producing champion dogs of both home and field. Ken is the kindest and most generous businessman I've ever dealt with. I've also read complaints about the pricing of the dogs. I'll admit DeCoverly dogs are priced on the high side, but they come with a 10 year guarantee against any dibilitating defect including diabetes, hip dysplayisa, cancer; you name it. Their follow ups with their new owers is second to none offering training and advice at any time. They maintain an email newsletter whcih keeps DeCoverly owners "in the loop" with what's going on with the breed.

Anyone considering buying a DeCoverly dog is certainly in for a treat when they visit the kennels and ultimately when they purchase their animal. My wife and I will never regret buying our fine DeCoverly English Setter, Deuce. He is our pride and joy.

Wonderful Dog - In the field and with the children.

As a pup (6 months old) we had her in "nothing but woods" type cover and she did everything right. What I really like w/o any training was her natural tendency to look for me when "lost" & to run only say 50-100 yards ahead before circling back.

The limits reguarding the dog's obedience is upon the trainer not the dog. In a 3 week course we had the dog professionally trained with spectacular results - much more than we could do on our own. From here the "shock collars" tone only works well.

Spent months looking for a male Tri-color English Setter talking to different hunters and Breeders across the US and Canada. Every time I mentioned I was considering Decoverly most conceded those dogs were the benchmark. Traveled to Decoverly in eastern PA to see puppies in September 2006. When Bridget brought out a 6 week old male with an orange eyebrow that explored the different kennel rooms and then cuddled into my wife's neck for a nap we knew the writings we'd read about these dogs weren't just spin advertising. We had that puppy sent to us in October. Bauer immediately became a member of the family with a great, fun-loving personality. A companion for my wife during the day - and still cuddling with her at 65 lbs. A hunting buddy for me - pointing his first bird from 37 yards when he was 165 days old! Everything we heard and read about Decoverly we see in Bauer. He's completely exceeded our expectations in the house and in the field.
