Vanguard strives to be at the forefront with our dogs on the national level in field competition to prove we have some of the best bloodlines in the country. Our dogs continue to prove time and again they have what it takes to be competitive on the national level, in the field as your hunting buddy and in the home as loving family companions.

All of our dogs are family raised and live in our home with us. When the field competition season ends, you'll find us in the field hunting with our dogs. While our primary interests revolve around the field we also compete with our dogs in agility, obedience and show. The Vizsla is an extremely versatile and loving family companion and that's what makes this breed so great.

All of our dogs are OFA'd, DNA'd, health checked and dual registered with AKC and American Field . We are members of Vizsla Club of America, National Vizsla Association, Vizsla Club of Greater Cleveland, Miami Valley Vizsla Club, Vizsla Club of Illinois, Michigan Vizsla Club, & Conestoga Vizsla Club.

My girlfriend and I were looking for the right breed and breeder for almost a year when we were introduced to Matt and Ruth Rogers from Vanguard Vizslas. We were looking for a dog that fit well with our very active outdoor life but still loved to cuddle on the couch at night happily chewing on a bone. Our search took us through the usual breeds, but it was that special Vizsla personality and temperament that won our hearts.

We received Diesel from Matt & Ruth and words can’t express how pleased we are with him and our decision to buy a puppy from Vanguard Vizslas. Gwen and I both love to run marathons and I’m usually out several nights a week training for one. Diesel has been a fantastic running partner he really doesn’t care what the weather is like, its go time! But in the house he’s such a good boy, very well mannered and happy to sit and chew a bone or watch tv with you. We are constantly getting complements from folks that meet Diesel about his looks and his sweet personality, he just loves everybody!

Matt & Ruth really took a lot of time with us explaining the breed, lineage of the dogs, helped us with training and got us involved with the local Vizsla club. Matt has been especially helpful with helping me to get Diesel ready for the fall pheasant season this year. They really weren’t kidding when they mentioned becoming part of the Vanguard Family, you can really tell they care a lot about the breed, their dogs and the sport they compete in with their dogs!

This fall was our first pheasant season with Diesel and I truly look forward to many, many more! Thank you Matt & Ruth.
